The Canucks are quietly the only team to not win a game so far

I never wished him harm…I just asked if it was his hurt feelings keeping him out day to day. I’d be hurt in the soul with the way things are going for the Canucks too.

I also could care less if you said the same thing to me. I don’t really believe a post on a hockey forum warrants the rage of the gods.
I also didnt wish McDavid harm, I said when he gets injured I will just repeat what you are saying about Hughes

Canucks should be careful because they are known to burn their own city, but not so quietly.
You seem very original. What else about Vancouver do you know aside from riots and burning??

No way.

But now: Yes.

Does anyone know, if any team started this badly(no wins 8 games) and made the playoffs? What was the highest regular season ranking?
In 2019, STL had a record of 2- 5-2 in their first 9 games. They did alright that year.

Ironically, the coach that "led' them to that record was Mike Yeo, who would be the likely in house replacement for Boudreau if he gets fired. Boudreau, of course, took over from Yeo in MN when he got fired(sorta, MN had an interim coach for a few games). Small world.

I heard Friedman say only 2 teams have made the playoffs since 05/06 getting 2 points in their first 7 games.

The Wild in the bubble season and Washington back when the SE division was crap

At this point I wonder if they were instructed to lose on purpose for the hometown Bedard?
Does not matter these days after the idiotic draft lottery changes. You would have at best around 18% to get him

What's shocking about the Canucks current situation - even if they decide to rebuild, Horvat is the only pending UFA of value that they'd get a decent return for. The rest of them are on horrible deals that other teams won't touch, lots of term, or both.

How does a capped out team end up THIS bad !?

We already know the answer to this. We've known it for years.

The problem is they just replaced the coach last year. If the team has already tuned out this coach that speaks to really bad locker room issues and player issues. If the team needs another coaching firing to light a fire under their ass, Id have serious concerns about the quality and type of players that make up the team and the lack of internal leadership.

Of course all that being said, the easiest move is to change coaches because you don't need another team to play ball like you do in a trade. However, I wouldn't have faith that a coaching change would bring any meaningful change, not with what the team has showed so far. There appears to be zero heart in that locker room.

But what do I know? im just an Oiler fan and this post will probably be met with " Hurr Durr Oilers fan shut up"

I agree. I also happen to be a BB fan. He has more than proven himself, IMO. Not a perfect coach, but one of the good ones. I just think that he is set up to be fired, just like he was in MN, because the present GM did not hire him.

I still think that VAN is screwed up by Benning's mismanagement, just like it took (is taking?) EDM a long time to get out from under Chia's decisions.

Benning and his dimwitted friend Weisbrod were responsible for this mess. I dont see both those clowns ever working as GM or assistant GM ever again. Only dumbo Aqualini was dumb enough to hire them

How could anyone hire Weisbrod? Jim Benning, surrounded by a quality team, may work. But Weisbrod? Dude is toxic.

E: I mean quality management team. Like good scouts and such. Also important that any quality management staff we had left very quickly under Benning

I like how the trade forum is getting a bunch of proposals to raid Van

Why is everything Vancouver does "quiet"?

Some running joke?
Hope this helps:

So you think a team that's coached by a dude without a contract and led by Elias "if things don't improve I'm audi" Pettersson and JT "Toxicly competitive" Miller were told to collude and lose games only 6 games into the year for an 18% chance at Connor Bedard *IF* they could even suck as badly in 82 games as the Coyotes? The team that's still owned by the guy who fired Trevor Linden into the sun for suggesting they needed to do this four years ago?

Nah.

The truth is that Hughes, Pettersson, Miller, Horvat, and especially Demko are too talented and good to tank, and too imperfect to contend without a massive overhaul. They'll win 16 out of 25 games mid-season, climb within 6 points of the Wild Card doing it, but fail to dig out. And if they keep going into the year with the same core problems, they'll keep having this season.
