Not sure what’s more surprising , that the Sabres won a game or that they set a team record that didn’t involve consecutive games lost. Things are looking up in Buffalo!
Pretty sure that gets scored as a "TEAM" goalI've never liked the thing where a player who never touched the puck gets credited for a goal. That just seems counter-intuitive. McLeod, for example, will now have a higher shooting percentage after not touching the puck at all.
Here's something I've always wondered: Who gets credited with a goal in the following situation?:
Face-off with one goalie pulled. The center-man of the team with the goalie pulled wins the draw so cleanly that it's clear that the opposing center never touched the puck at all. Meanwhile, the puck goes straight back and into the net of the center-man who "won" the face-off.
???

Yeah google says you're right, not sure where I got that idea fromThe center would likely be credited as he was the closest to the puck
And yet it takes the Canes 150 shots to get 2 goalsMcLeod had 3 goals on 2 shots in this game, so 150% on the night lol
