What you say just sadly is not true. Lol.

You guys have so much faith in this garbage it's a hoot.

We gave them a few wide open looks and they cashed in. That's all it ever takes. 'How many' doesn't matter nearly as much as 'how good'.

Our goalie let a bad goal in. Binnington played well, and we also shot pucks into his crest, glove...bobbled our breakaways...

Are we going to feign outrage at every loss this season bc we 'deserved' to win?

Hit somebody. Don't give the puck away at the bluelines. Don't take stupid penalties. Make a save.

Then you'll win. You don't get crap for zone entries or time spent in the zone. We could do that with Jagr and Zubrus and still lose...it just looked alot uglier than this wonderful Disney Circus in ice we have right now.

They'll figure it out and we will start winning.

I bet you thought they played better last night than they did tonight, dont you?

4 high danger chances against tonight. 2.4 expected goals against.
bro we allowed 19 shots on goal and 4 high danger chances TOTAL

blaming the defense tonight overall is NOT IT.
I've been with you guys about this for most of the games this year, but this one was definitely a combination of cruddy goaltending and horrible defending on the only chances they gave up. You cannot give opposition players the opportunity to skate freely for several seconds in the slot like they did on two of those goals. The seas parted on those two chances, even with all the crazy chances the Devils had the whole game none were as unimpeded as those two for St. Louis. That's exactly the kind of thing we saw almost every game last year and it was part of the reason the goaltending was so goddamn FUBAR last year.

I like how Palat‘s hit on the forecheck led to a goal. That’s the first time all year I have seen that happen. A good hard hit that forced a turnover that directly lead to a goal. Not sure why , but we have to be one of the least hitting teams in the league.
Im not sayig we go full goon squad here as our strength is our speed , but mix in a good hard hit once in awhile … Orher team running around our zone cycling the shit out of us , throw a hit . Pin a guy to the boards. Seems like we don’t hit nearly enough.

I missed last night's game entirely and couldn't watch the replay on ESPN+ bc it was a national game so I can't comment.
But I have no idea how good any of Detroit's chances were bc none of Vanacek's saves made the highlights, even if he was the perceived diff in the game.

But I sure won't simply look at the shot counter and 'know we played worse'. I'm not *that* stupid esp considering Detroit's home accounting.

Seemed like Jack Hughes and Nico (and dougie) versus the world though, as it has been for a month.

I honestly understand that. My problem with it is that things like that happen multiple times a game for both teams on the ice. A few guys had wide open looks for us (way more than the Blues) and Binnington made the saves.

Those wide open looks against happened more than a few times in Detroit as well. They happen. All teams give them up sometimes. Last night we got the big saves on them. Tonight we didn’t.

I also think we're getting dangerously close to the games being Vitek or bust, where you might start seeing him in games you wouldn't have just less than a week ago.

Depending on how much longer Schmid is even here for, I highly doubt you'll see him get a start again before that California back to back, if he's even still up.

And this is why Lindy may lose the room. The Mercer mistake was a physical error. A missed opportunity, but not a giveaway or something that hurt the team. Just odd to single that out.

It's not even factually correct...the turning point was the shit goal Barbashev scored. Mercer was just one of like ten or twelve guys that fobbed glorious chances

Oh they had some glorious breakdowns in Detroit, much like tonight.

He is not wrong though.. That was a good SH chance at a pivitol point of the game with a pretty muffin try. At least get a shot on the net. Very deflating because they soon came back and grabbed the lead over us.

If that statement loses the room then our leadership is horrible.

To me he’s very clearly the 4th best forward on the team (yes he’s better than Palat and it’s not even really a debate to me). I agree on the PP thing. I also don’t really know what the solution is while Nate’s out. Tried Mercer who wasn’t really all that great at it. That’s not what Palat’s role was in TB so I’m not sure how he’d be at it. I’m generally not the biggest Yegor PP fan but maybe as the bumper he’d work

I like Tatar but this is just not true. Palat is clearly a better player. Not that it matters when we have fartbag Ruff in charge.

Our coach is overplaying lesser talented forwards because of their faceoff abilities. He's putting players in positions to fail.

Line-up needs to be utilised to their talents, not engineered towards singular key aspects.
