Enough with giving our franchise player two washed up has beens (that were mediocre when they were in their “prime”) on his line. How about habe someone actually good at scoring okay with him? Just a thought. I wk dear why Jack has decided to shot WAY more often than any poit in his entire career? Could it be because he has no one to pass it to that can finish? He has 100% altered his game because he has nobody to pass to. He is thinking shot instead of pass now 99.99% of the time amd I don’t blame him.
It’s a waste of a elite player.
I can’t think of one other teams star player that consistently is forced to play with complete shitbags on his line

Tatar’s played great this year. Acting like he’s washed up or mediocre is moronic.

So…? I don’t disagree with that necessarily.
But Fitz clearly believes in Ruff and as long as we’re in the playoff picture/fight I think he’ll be secure and have a chance to turn things around. So unless we go on a big losing streak to the point where we’re completely out of the race in the next 20 games or so I can’t see Ruff not finishing the season here.
I don’t know what there is to “turn around.” We are playing well right now and sitting pretty in the standings. We should have won tonight but - as Bleed said - our goaltending let us down.

I think right now he's being given the chance to turn it around.

We might even be getting to the point where he's gonna start playing Vanecek every game. If he plays him both games of the back to back in California (I think we have a back to back on that trip) then you know he's feeling a lot of the heat.
I don’t think he’s likely feeling the heat. We’re in a playoff spot and Fitz has shown in the past that he believes in Ruff and a lot of the players seem to like him.
They simply aren’t gonna fire him when the devils are still in the playoff battle.

BLUES HAD 4 HIGH DANGER CHANCES. 4!!!!
I dont even care if all of those 4 went in, but we need to score more. We had like what 11? LOL. Thats just dogshit right there.

I can live with our goalie being shit sometimes, but how can we be so bad at scoring is beyond me. It goes past individual players, its a team issue.

I‘ll give him the benefit of the doubt tonight because he got recalled earlier today and was thrown to the wolves. But, make no mistake. Blackwood would have been crucified for this type of performance.

And rightfully so. An NHL goalie should have been able to rob a few of those chances that ended up being goals.

Lol saying they'll fall out of the playoffs race is hysterical, the Penguins and Islanders aren't good. They'll make it, this team is caving teams into the ground for most of the year. Yeah, they need points but if you think Erik Haula will be here past this year then you're out to lunch, bitching about him is pointless. The guy should legit be the 4C right now and he's playing over his head. Fitz is going to get that top line winger for Jack and when he does, watch out. Almost had it with Tkachuk but the guy didn't want to be here which is his right as a player.

I get that the goaltending sucked and gave up goals on basically every chance the Blues had. But two of those chances were absurdly shit defense. The shooter literally allowed to cruise into the slot with eons of time to shoot and pick an exact spot. We had many many glorious opportunities but none of them were like that where the shooter had all the time in the world.

As he should, most of us gave him credit for the Carolina game where he stole a point. This idea that this fanbase isn't fair to Blackwood is hilarious.

Only 1,000 short of a sellout tonight. The more we lose at home the better we draw fans!

That's all fine and dandy, but if this rot seeps in to their away game they'll be outside looking in real fast.

I'm not putting this all on Schmid, but he does deserve a sizable amount of blame.

Dougie and Siegs were dog shit tonight

Zero structure again, wasn’t any last night either. Neutral zone is putrid, d zone is terrible. 3 years of running around. Enough is enough.

Analytics don’t mean a damn thing when the breakdowns are monumental and always end up in your net. I’ve never seen so many players on the offensive side of the puck in the d zone in my life.

Fire Lindy
4 High danger chances against. 4. That might legitimately be the lowest number of high danger chances allowed all year around the NHL.

It is 8 in a row at home now. Lose Saturday it is 9. Lose the next two games and it is 3-12 stretch basically. They would get past by the Rangers who were 14 points back. At a certain point front office / ownership steps in and makes a change to try and turn things around. Especially as Lindy is pretty much a lame duck coach and a replacement is on the bench. It is one of those if you are going to make the change at the end of year, you make it now.

I’m not necessarily mad at Lindy. This isn’t really a coaching issue overall. Their depth is getting exposed. But a coaches job is not let things snowball. It has snowballed here. And there have been snowball the past two years as well. It might be time for a new voice.
I agree with all of this.

He's not the biggest problem with the team IMO, there's other problems (which he exacerbates), but he really shouldn't have survived last season.

It is time for a new voice and the replacement is already here, so there's really not much of an excuse to fight it, other than ''Well we won 13 in a row with him as the head coach''.

I don't flip flop very often. I don't constantly jump fence. He won me over a little bit with some of his comments, but he's probably a nice guy. That's not a reason to keep him.

And yes, the prior two seasons he was here were also seasons that featured huge crashes later in the year. We just never had nearly the cushion that we had this year.

Holtz isn’t the answer to play with Jack, he just isn’t good enough all around yet. The time with the extra attacker is a good example, he isn’t fast enough to get on pucks and he isn’t strong enough on the boards. The answer to one of Jack’s wing isn’t in the organization. They need a trade.

This was a game you we have to win 6-4. Good teams need to be able to win tight checking grind it out chess matches and other nights we need to fight fire with fire.

Tatar is definitely worthy of it. Haula is not. I really don’t know how the 2 get lumped together. Tatar is 24th in 5v5 P/60 which is tied with Bratt.

Tatar is a an alright complementary piece but does not have enough finish to merit playing with Hughes. On a strong team, Tatar is a very good third liner who can fill a top 6 void when injuries strike. There is simply not enough supporting talent around Hughes-Hischier. It’s absurd how much heavy lifting these two are doing.

How is it pointless to bitch about Haula because he’ll be gone in a year? This shouldn’t be treated as a throwaway year.
