I think it is entirely possible that T.J. Watt is damaged goods and will never recover from his injuries.

This can probably be said about every single player in the NFL.
I guarantee you I am damaged goods and while my injuries are not acute it's highly unlikely I will ever recover.

I saw some clips that said Williams was just getting back to his full strength in recent weeks. So I’m cautiously optimistic. As someone that followed most of his career for fantasy purposes, I know the kind of difference maker he can be depending on the game. He also goes insanely quiet sometimes as well.

He and GP could be a fun duo.

This.

My memory (not always reliable) tellsd me that Williams, when he was younger, was less a jump ball type and more just a downfield threat. It's a similar profile but not completely congruent. At best you just have to hope it opens up things underneath and at the line for the rest of the offense.

My question there is if it is possible for oppositions to keep a high shell *and* bring a lot of pressure close to the line of scrimmage by selling out on covering the middle of the field. I don't know NFL defences well enough to say. But a WR who's a natural outlet in those situations would seem really useful.

We'll see. The team has done a good job of forcing opposition teams to pick their poison recently.

Yeah I had hoped for an underneath guy who knows how to get open/create separation in small areas. I was just thinking best-case given Williams does not have that reputation.

As I said, I'm not declaring he is, but to pretend like it's not a concern is being willfully ignorant.

He's a 30 year old WR which is around the age when WR start to drop off anyway, an ACL tear is more severe than Watt's injuries, he missed basically an entire year, and it hasn't gone well for him in his return. Again, it's not enough to declare anything. Maybe it is just scheme related, but the concern is real.

My guess is Khan was really banking on getting Aiyuk before the season and was caught with his pants down when it fell through. Wouldn’t shock me if he goes WR in the first round come draft day
Aiyuk ended up being out anyway so f*** the Aiyuk shit. He might not be the same after his injury so that might be a blessing in disguise.

I guess if Williams runs a bunch of deep routes, they can use Pickens in the intermediate more. He's not super consistent there but he can cook guys and it's no bad thing to induce doubt about what he's doing. Probably use Muth a bunch there too. Of course Williams doesn't cure the worry about injury but there we go.

Apparently Kaboly said a big name in the locker room told management that Boyd wouldn't be welcome there last offseason.

Yea I'd love a more intermediate passing game but that involves passing MOF.

That's a problem bc:
1. Tomlin doesn't like that
2. Neither Wilson or JF like it either

So they got the guy with the best "fit" for the rest of the year.
