The Blackhawks and the Kyle Beach situation

He was an asshole about it. No doubt. And Hawks fans were rightfully pissed at him when this happened, also. After that video, he has essentially removed himself from anything Hawks related and focuses on his liquor business, and his son runs, and is the face of the team, from an ownership standpoint.
He was just rattled, feeling the heat and didn’t handle it properly.

His mindset was probably as follows “Jesus Christ I have to deal with this shit show now because of some peasant sexual predator video coach.”

He slipped up, no big deal. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t care, was just feeling the pressure in that moment.

My assumption is based on the fact that none of the players questioned report hearing any of that at the training camp. I don't have the training camp schedule in front of me, but to me it is logical that A) his fellow black aces would be much more likely to have heard something happened earlier than the established players. It details in the report how separated the two groups were and how much downtime the black aces had during that run. B) Those black aces and Rockford teammates would be much more likely to be sharing the ice more often during training camp, as the more established players are often put in separate groups.
So the assumption is not based on the idea the players wouldn't taunt him because he isn't a threat, but because they probably didn't interact with him much at all, which is a different argument than what I quoted.

You have to be very made at Miami OH as well and the NHL players union. So many people screwed this up and let this POS keep moving without getting caught.
Yes. The player's union at most turns does anything and everything in their power to NOT protect their members. Only their paychecks.

Notre Dame didn't comment because THEY provided Miami with positive recommendation...

Again... read.

Jesus, this isn't hard.

The Blackhawks did not provide any recommendation to anyone. Period.

"After leaving his employment with the Blackhawks, Aldrich went on to work and volunteer at USA Hockey, the University of Notre Dame, Miami University of Ohio, and Houghton High School.621 None of the witnesses we interviewed recalled anyone at the Blackhawks providing a written or verbal reference for Aldrich to his future employers. When interviewed, Aldrich stated that he did not list any Blackhawks employees as references on job applications, nor did he ask anyone from the Blackhawks to vouch for him or make any calls on his behalf.622 USA Hockey reported to us that they identified no records reflecting 64 a reference provided for Aldrich by the Blackhawks.623 We gathered records from Miami University regarding Aldrich’s employment and found no evidence of references, whether written or oral, provided by the Blackhawks. Miami University published an investigative report on September 24, 2021, which stated that Aldrich did not provide references on his resume when he applied to Miami, that the then-head coach of Miami University’s hockey team received Aldrich’s name from the coach’s collegiate hockey connections, and that the head coach and others spoke to the University of Notre Dame about Aldrich and received favorable information.624 The Miami investigative report does not describe any references provided by the Blackhawks.625 The University of Notre Dame declined to share information or records with us, other than to confirm Aldrich’s dates of employment at the university."
And you don't think Notre Dame would call up an old alum who happened to be Aldrich's previous employer to see what was up?

What would you like to do about Miami Ohio hockey team? Should they be stripped of scholarships? Take away funding for facilities? or is just Bedard that you are worried about.

Dude, everyone knows McDonough messed up in a big way, he's not allowed to work in hockey again.
He's not the only one. If you dispatch a guy to "handle" something, you make sure it's handled. Especially something of this nature. That's basic "cover your own ass" that everyone around McDonough failed to do for themselves let alone Beach.

Ah, so now the report is lying, as are all the schools/employers that Aldrich worked for after the Hawks.

The conspiracy theorists on here are outrageous.

I'd try and get to the bottom of those that declined to speak. If Miami got handed a shit sandwich being told it's a reuben, that's kind of a raw deal for them.

Why are people arguing with themselves in this thread? Nobody is defending how the Blackhawks handled this, and nobody is defending the NHL. Nobody is defending Q, or Stan, or McDonough, that I've seen. They are all out of hockey. If we all agree, then what's the point of hundreds more posts beating this dead horse to death?

Move. On.

Kyle Beach has.

Does anyone read anymore? This never happened...

You're obviously not a lawyer nor a reader yourself. Absolutely nothing in that statement states unequivocally that the Blackhawks didn't provide references. "declined to share" surely does not equal, we did our due diligence and they refused to provide references.

Q: Gee, where were you were working previously as a video hockey coach?

A: NOWHERE WHY DO YOU ASK?????? NO YOU MAY NOT CONTACT MY PREVIOUS EMPLOYERS

now, it's possible they said, yeah he's a great video coach he kind of raped a guy but don't worry about it

You don't believe the Blackhawks are profitable?

I never said that. I know it actually took like 5 years into the Hawks run with T&K for the Hawks to break out of the red. I'm sure they're profitable, but in the grand scheme of things, the money the Hawks make the Wirtz is pocket change in comparison to their other business. And the Hawks are in a massive market. It's primarily your major markets that turn a profit, while fringe and small markets generally don't, or if they do, it's not much.

One out of all of the employers declined to share any information. Because THEY provided Miami with a positive reference of Aldrich. Just going to ignore the other 3 that said the Hawks did not provide any recommendations, are we? And I'm the one that can't read. :biglaugh:

This may be one of the dumbest arguments I've seen about this.

Kyle Beach has.

You're wrong about all that.

Not much animosity toward the Blackhawks about this for me, but the league definitely screwed up big time

Look at the punishment the New Orleans Saints had after the bounty scandal

Blackhawks covered up rape and the NHL basically wagged their finger at them

The calls to punish the Blackhawks with the loss of a first round pick is pure virtue signalling. Why on earth should the players and fans of the organization be punished for something entirely out of their hands a decade ago and that has nothing to do with the competitive environment? This is the difference between social justice and real justice. Real justice for Kyle Beach has absolutely nothing to do with the Blackhawks draft picks, that’s social justice for the NHL (and especially fans) to signal their virtue.

Real justice comes from criminal proceedings and a day in court for the truth to come out. Social justice is tarring and feathering everyone involved from behind keyboards and monitors. I get that we all want to stand with the survivors of sexual violence, but posting about it on HFboards isn’t how you do it.
If sweeping the incident under a rug had nothing to do with the competitive environment... why did it need to be swept under the rug? I'm sure being in the middle of the playoffs didn't factor into that at all.

The President of the Blackhawks.

I'd try and get to the bottom of those that declined to speak. If Miami got handed a shit sandwich being told it's a reuben, that's kind of a raw deal for them.
They sent a glowing review for his work and he moved on to another team. You dont know this?

The President of the organization stated "I'll handle it." when he was made aware in San Jose. I would think most people would expect that the President of the organization, the highest position of power within the organization, outside the owner, would be handling it at that point. They dropped the ball by not realizing what a gigantic piece of shit McDonough is, and that he, in fact, wasn't handling anything, until 3 weeks later... They all got fired. Him first.
People keep saying all. And that just isn't true.

If someone that reports to you f***s something of this magnitude up and you 1. didn't know about it or 2. didn't care to follow up. There ought to be repercussions. Letting the kids take over while you keep getting paid isn't repercussions.

Okay, but he still does make money on the Blackhawks, its just not enough for it to be an issue if he is still connected to the team in that way.

He was their boss...

They're all banned anyways.
