Shit in this country is about to get weird. Really weird. That’s all I’m gonna say.

Anyone else really looking forward for the first JWST photos to be released on July 12?

Not gonna lie I had to look up that that was James Webb, which I’m well aware of. I’m looking forward to it. But they wont go all the way to the Big Bang. They should eventually shed light on galaxies - how they behave early in the universe, and how they form.

That will give us a brand new POV of the universe. Something that we, humans, have never seen before. It's a big deal.

God there is no movie genre I hate more than comic book movies. You know EXACTLY what's going to happen and how it's going to end. What is so intriguing about them? I'll never understand.
They're just fun rides that you can turn your brain off while watching. Lets you escape the everyday humdrum of life. I understand the appeal even if I don't really care for them anymore. Now the people I don't understand are the ones claiming they should be Oscar award-winning movies.

I just don't get how they generate so much money at the box office and are nominated for all these awards while securing the most A-List actors/actresses for their roles.

Every movie is the same story arc, and it's all leading up to the same thing: big bad wants to take over the world and eventually gets taken down by a group of superheroes banding together.

I get it's mindless entertainment but I'm still shocked at how well they do. I personally can't stand mindless entertainment.

Man what a trailer. Hit all the feels

Only problem man is that it was really off-putting for me to not have Bob Marly's vocal on "No Woman, No Cry".

Pure escapism.

Although, I also enjoy reading John D MacDonald and listening to Jimmy Buffett whilst indulging in a bit of the devil's lettuce.

Oh, as a side note, I took the week off and went on a business trip with my wife for a Fire/EMS symposium in Minneapolis-St. Paul. Wasn't even thinking about it but our hotel was next door to the Excel Energy Center. We went to this place for dinner called Patrick McGoverns (awesome food and ambiance by the way) pretty much every night. But last night we kept getting these freaking strange looks from the patrons and it was starting to freak me out until my wife told me I was wearing my Avs Stanely Cup Championship T-Shirt. *LOL* f*** 'em.

Chill out there, Scorsese. It's ok to just let people enjoy things

Just got back from a week long Dude Ranch trip near Buena Vista, Colorado. Outstanding experience with my wife's family.

Rode horses, white water rafting, fly fishing, shot some guns, excellent food all week. I recommend it to anyone looking for a fun family trip. We met some great families that were there with us.

I was very clearly into it up until 2016. After that I was like "I think I've seen all of it". Since then I've randomly seen a couple more and haven't been interested in any of them. Textbook milking the cow dry, but clearly not for everyone.

Between the movies and TV shows now it's become oversaturated for sure. A good amount of the most recent Marvel stuff hasn't hit the same bar as before, but there's been some standouts like Shang Chi and especially No Way Home. The new Black Panther is going to be especially interesting considering the lead actor of that movie passed away in real life.

I don't know what would have to happen for me to think "you know what, I'll watch this Marvel TV series".

But get this too, I've seen all the Star Wars movies up until episode 7, I streamed Rogue One, I've seen the Mandalorian, I've seen Obi-Wan, I'm thinking about starting The Book of Boba Fett... But I completely skipped 8, 9, and Solo. Those ones didn't happen.

I stopped watching Marvel stuff after Endgame. That was the climax of their story and they needed to let it breathe. Instead they started immediately launching TV shows and movies to kick off their next phase of superhero movies. I had superhero movie fatigue so I lost interest at that point and I can't get into it now. There's no way in hell that I'm watching 20 some odd TV shows and movies just to fully understand what's going on with the overall plot. They have NINE different films/shows planned for 2023 alone! Like seriously, chill.
