Once again the Leafs get no respect. Is it really that hard to admit the Leafs are a good team?

Leafs are so overrated! LOL. They are the 6th best team in the NHl standings. They are so underrated on here this year.

Thats the same guy that claimed the leafs were "disappointing". Hahaha. You can tell that the leafs success is getting to him.

Boston has elite numbers, gotten by playing more games vs better teams than you did. These facts seem to upset you: ask yourself why. I think that the uninterrupted decades of superiority by Boston has done a number on you...
Being elite doesn't mean one can't have the occasional hiccup vs poor teams. We're still on a 27-5-4 run. I wonder if Toronto ever had a run like that in their entire history? Probably not.

"Insecure"??? Lol. You seem to like to bring that up, sounds like you are projecting your own issues here.

They’ve played more games vs better teams? This sounds like your vs playoff teams argument which we’ve already established is based on inaccurate-unknown numbers.

I like to bring up you being insecure? That was literally the first time i’ve made note of it, so I’m not sure where you got that from. I think I’ve been pretty reasonable and level headed in these discussions while you’ve stooped to posting gifs and trashing the Leafs openly. I assume this is from frustration at having your weak arguments smacked down, otherwise why the sudden juvenile tactics.

I’m not even sure you know what you’re arguing at this point.

You established absolutely nothing. I put forward numbers that back up clearly what I said. If you want to disprove them, go for it, it's not my job.

I am cool, calm and collected. You lost your composure and all was needed was a little meme. Weak.

Now back to the Bruins game. You do whatever you want.

Yep, you certainly come off as cool and collected with your memes and zingers after you made yourself look like a frustrated kid. I guess me offering one back unsettled you further, lol.

You offered a bad argument based on numbers you aren’t even clear on, and you already admitted that - you suggested I pay you for the work involved in ascertaining the accuracy of your argument. If the yellow streak in you is so thick that you are afraid to admit you are wrong, when you yourself admitted to know knowing the accuracy of the numbers your entire argument is based upon, then maybe you should inform yourself first.

It would be nice if you were more reasonable - as this argument was only about Toronto not being as bad as you believe them to be, but unfortunately we can’t see eye to eye since your head is currently up your own ass.

Still triggered to the max. Sleep on it and come back tomorrow calm & refreshed. Stay frosty.

I’m okay with losing to Arizona, your the one proclaiming Boston’s elite... memba? So getting your ass handed to you by Buffalo is delicious.

It’s good for me? Nah, trust me, it’s good for you. All you’ve accomplished in here is to reveal you don’t know how to string together a compelling argument, and let everyone know how insecure you are.

[mod]

Boston has played at an elite level here this season. They are 13-2-2 in 2018. Did they lose to buffalo? Sure. But they beat the islanders twice, the Devils twice, the blues and the leafs in that stretch. All good teams. I don’t understand this debate or what the debate is. But if it’s that Toronto has had a better season than I’m not sure what the argument is. Boston has more points in less games. Case closed. If it’s that Boston isn’t as talented as Toronto, that’s up for debate I’d say, although I think that the bruins defense and goaltending are more effective and than Toronto’s, while toronto has the better in the young talent category

Basically he thinks Toronto is average and Boston is elite. I don’t think either team is elite but rather are on different ends of the same tier, a very good tier but not elite. I’ve acknowledged Boston is better, but have argued that the difference isn’t this great chasm he’s making it out to be.

That’s it in a nut-shell.

or how about they're both on the elite tier, with boston at the top of that tier and leafs at the bottom of it?

If I may as an Atlantic outsider :D
This is the Atlantic tiers atm:
Bolts, Bs
.
Leafs
.
.
.
Look out BELOWWWWW

Bs have been on a long consistent surge. A loss to a Buffalo will happen to eventual SC champs in the course of the reg season.
The Atlantic has been one of the most Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde divisions I've ever seen in some time. Maybe I'm forgetting a similar split personality division. The Metro is the opposite - 2 pts could mean 2 positions in the division. Whoever wins the Metro will have no idea who they'll face in round one until the last day or two of the reg season. By Thanksgiving you pretty much knew Leafs would make it and face Bs, now maybe Bolts in round one.

Great night for those among the Big 3 of the Atlantic who played. With roughly 25 games to go, there seem to be a separation of teams amongst 3 tiers:

Points in the 70’s - Toronto, Tampa, Boston

Points in the 50’s - Detroit, Florida, Montreal

Points in the 40’s - Buffalo, Ottawa

I think one of the Big 3 will win the East.

Not anymore. Boston has 76 points. I don't know what type of math you are using, but that is not low 70's and with still 3 games in hand.

It's a widespread allergy to complete facts by the usual suspects.

Case in point:
- "we have the same points more or less!".
+5 points AND 3 games in hand isn't that close...
- "Matthews is first (or second or something like that) for goals in the past two seasons, therefore he is one of the absolute best players in the league!".
But when one looks at point, so goals AND assists, and in relation to games played (= ppg)... he is currently 35th in that.
- "look, X < =Leafs player> has more points <total points, that is> than Y <= Bruins player>".
Never mind that they always use this to compare someone who played 50+ games to someone that lost 15-20 games due to injury.

And so on..

They're masters of looking at little bits to peddle untrue "facts", instead of using the whole picture.

It was never a (serious) debate. It's Leafs fans trying to get a dig at Bruins fans.
And since the Bruins have had a much better season than Toronto so far + their only go-to spiel (= the infamous 6 regular season games winning stretch) has come to a screeching halt, they're clinging to every tiny bit they can find. In this case one loss to Buffalo. It's just a bit of desperation, nothing much to see.

Fixed your "nut-shell".

PS: still not a definition of "elite" from you. One that could be verified with data, that is...
