The lack of picking up anyone to make the team better with the money saved on Semin indicates a full rebuild.

The unwillingness (loyalty) to move veteran players that help the team win indicates a retooling.

Stuck right in the middle, mediocrity abound, are the #hcanes.

I think it would make a lot of us happy if RF just came straight out and said "yes we are going into full rebuild mode. Get ready for 2-3 of suck". 99% of this Canes board would be ok with that.

Instead we go into every July 1st with false hopes of maybe we can sign this guy or that guy, then if everyone stays healthy and we get a couple of career years we can compete. I would love that, but then we all know that dooms us for 7th to 9th place in the east and are in no mans land like the past 8 years. Just tell us we are in rebuild mode and we will give you time to make the necessary adjustments before we judge your tenure RF. just don't do the same things JR always did and us fans have no idea what is going on.

Last point I will bring up is what the F is up with Karmanos having a press conference right in the middle of the day? Can't wait till tomorrow? Just makes us look absolutely brutal doing that right in the middle of when real teams are trying to improve themselves. I can't understand why PK would want to own a team and not give it his full attention and full resources (spending to cap or close to it). Otherwise in my mind I am thinking what is the point??? Just sell it to someone who cares.

Who is going to take our veteran players? Most of them suck. The only player we could trade is Staal. If we extend Staal this offseason that would indicate a retooling.

I think we could get more for Staal at the trade deadline where there won't be much salary left. Too many teams are up against the cap. Look what Kessel got.
