True On both counts.Still mindboggling that he last as long as he did. Also crazy that Kirsty is nearly 25 years gone.

This leads credence to the idea that as men age they either wind up smoking meat or brewing beer as a hobby.
This is so accurate.
Honestly, my opinion of country music when legends like Cash, Willie, Hank Williams, etc...were singing compared to today's country music could not be anymore contrast. This generation of commercialized country music may be my least favorite genre while the rebel days of country is one of my favorite genres of music.
I think part of it is the 'algorithm' (right word?) music companies used to make their stars (look like this, sing like this, follow this melody, write these types of songs) has played a huge role in the saturation of country music and other genres. But, also, the guys who used to sing country music lived much tougher lives and were really about that cowboy lifestyle, so their songs reflected the struggles of their lives and also the lifestyle they glorified.
A lot of today's artists come from very different lifestyles. They may be from the south, but quite a few of them are from suburban areas. They aren't hardened like the men back then, and I've noticed a lo of the artists I enjoy listening to the most had a ton of trauma in their lives.
Apparently he recorded an album's worth of material before he passed. If that is true, I am certain it will be released.Still mindboggling that he last as long as he did. Also crazy that Kirsty is nearly 25 years gone.
It was a weird scene when Chet and RCA were putting strings and choirs on everything and Bakersfield essentially had to tell the nation that it was okay to honky-tonk. I love Chet but that whole era was pretty cringe.Honestly, my opinion of country music when legends like Cash, Willie, Hank Williams, etc...were singing compared to today's country music could not be anymore contrast. I think this one isn't given enough credence in retrospect. For me it was peaky.
Day 14/25 of songs of Christmas countdown: today’s song is Home For Christmas by Cavo. They’re a rock band from St. Louis. They formed in 2000, and are still together with moderate commercial success. This song was released in 2010 and is a country influenced rock ballad.
I could use the list as a change for the bars. Now the boys have a metal Xmas blend and some TSO they pop out for 15 minutes or so at a timeI’ll also add that given the holiday season is coming up, and some people might be hosting Christmas parties, feel free to DM me for a list of the songs. 98% of them are available on Spotify, 100% on YouTube, and the ones that aren’t on Spotify I’ve replaced them with a different version of the song.
The only requests I have is that you do not share the playlist with any other user here, nor comment about an upcoming song until I mention it.
@Old Navy Goat im mostly looking at you here
