Day 2 of rejected Christmas songs: this time it’s Greenbrier Lane bringing you Christmastime in the 909. It’s a punk song about how rough the area is, especially towards outsiders. It’s slightly NSFW, but is worthy of repeated listens as a song itself rather than just as a Christmas song.

Day 3 of rejected Christmas songs: today’s song is Old Borego (Another Christmas) by Switchfoot. It’s a mid-tempo rock song, that is more about the excitement of a new year than Christmas. Originally released on a KROQ Christmas compilation in 2004, it’s more of a song that would not be out of place on a regular album. Given the band’s deep ties to the Christian music industry, you can crank this song around anywhere you want.

Day 4 of rejected Christmas songs: today’s song is We Three Kings by The Dingees. It’s a chilled out reggae version.

Day 5 of rejected Christmas songs: today’s song is I Saw Mommy Biting Santa Claus by The Dollyrots. It’s a song about Christmas during a zombie apocalypse by a husband and wife pop punk band.

Day 6 of rejected Christmas songs: I really had a hard time placing this song. Plus points for it being an original song. Plus points for it being chilled out musically. It’s just awesome. It’s how the City of Sin rolls during Christmas. I had this originally in the list of 25 songs for December but it got bumped by another song. It’s a 1940s lounge style song, so you may wanna add it to your Christmas music playlist.

Day 7 of rejected Christmas songs: the final day features Christmas Sucks by TikTok star Jaden Hossler. Formerly known as Jxdn, he’s signed to Travis Barker’s label and combines rap and pop-punk in his music. This song was released in December 2022, which is why it’s here instead of in the 25 song playlist countdown. This song is NSFW, but catchy as hell.

Day 1/25 songs for Christmas is Mixtape for Christmas by the band Hey Monday. Originally released in 2011, it was the final release by the band before singer Cassadee Pope left to pursue her own music career. First she tried to go as a pop artist going through The Voice (finishing top 10) then became a country artist, before returning to pop-punk in 2021.

Saw him in concert. The crowd was delighted to see he was visibly intoxicated when he came onstage.

I'm far from an abstainer, but a sordid display from both parties afaic.

Day 2/25 Christmas songs is Mirror Eyes’ “Out of All the Charlie Browns in the World, I’m the Charlie Browniest”. The emo-pop band formed in Nashville over the Internet in 2014, and released this song in 2016. Despite recording a full album and an EP, they have only released 5 songs and currently appears to be inactive. This song is definitely not on the happier side.
