No, I just don't take threads like this seriously.

Just relax and enjoy life. If you don't like a thread, just stay out of it
Im fascinated over all the people in here that think that you should spend (waste) ALOT of money and TRY (it is not a sure thing it will work) transplant your hair if going bald. Better to wear your baldness with pride if you have the self esteem to do so. If enough people goes bald it will become the norm and people will ignore it or think its something to achieve

Because why not? He can do it and get away with it. Life is far too serious when even entertainment like hockey is serious business. Go Auston!
And the porn star looks almost makes you the miss the giant nostrils

Uh oh. Derail attempt with biased agenda.
Uh oh, you got me.

Not shaming those who suffer from MPB because they have no control of it is like making fun of a handicapped person.

Is it ok to make fun of somebody with a receding hairline if they have Cystic fibrosis? Both are genetic.

It’s immature and classless.

I'll just speak for myself but I think that Iafrate was rocking a strong look there, not as good as if he had a full head of hair but it is distinctive and strong. If he shaved everything off it would be pretty bland like Keith Tkachuk. The Terry Bradshaw skullet is also an underrated look for a thickly built guy. Obviously all these guys would rather have hair but "just shave it off" is bad advice for a lot of bald guys.

More often than not i think it's better to just buzz/shave it rather than fight it. At least then you can just get over it instead of sweating it everytime you have to style your hair. Work with what ya got! No shame in the buzz/shave. It's genetics.

I don't really give a f*** about what people can and can't joke about but one of the weirdest double standards in society is that it's extremely taboo to make fun of someone's weight (which in most cases is controllable), but completely fine to make fun of someone losing their hair (which unless you want to take propecia for the remainder of your life isn't controllable).

Sorry people. Bad thread. This is body shaming, regardless if you’re willing to admit it. Large people can arguably control their size, yet we don’t go there. So why is this ok? Mods, this is truly shameful to keep this thread active.
It’s okay to body shame men, everyone knows that

I've been bald for almost 15 years. It's not that serious. It's just a goofy thread on a hockey forum. It must be exhausting to wake up every day seeking out what to be offended by. It's not like were sitting here having a cup of coffee with Auston Matthews and telling him to his face he's ugly and bald.

It will be alright I promise. You can white knight for bald NHLers in person if the situation ever presents itself.

It's very little, equivalent to pennies, for these athletes to fix.

Don't get your hopes up on flipping the story, but I agree otherwise. I think bald people will always be the butt end of every joke unfortunately, but maybe that's part of the self-confidence journey of baldness.

Culturally, I’d wager most NHLers just don’t really believe in hair transplants. These guys are hyper masculine and don’t come from homes where people do that type of thing. Maybe the guys from California are an outlier, but beyond that ...

There could be a bunch of NHL players that have gone through procedures but you don't know about it. Which is the point of a hair transplant. Steve Yzerman chose his hair restoration doctor poorly.

I like your try, but no, the evolution prefers things that helps you survive. Hair protects from strong sun etc. We have gair on the head for a reason.

If many would go bold, it would be a norm, and those witout would be looked at as beutiful Lves from fairytales.

Rick "Nifty" Middleton on the Bruins was receding as a player, but I think did one of those local commercials in Boston for hair treatment years ago, and looks better as he aged. I can't recall if he played sans helmet most of his career.

Sorry, don't know how to post pictures.

He slapped on a JOFA for the last year or maybe two of his career but spent the bulk of it helmet-free.

Curious what makes you think Yzerman had a hair transplant? He's never been bald and his hairline looks like a pretty standard aging progression

And I did shave, as promised. It was rough. I was kind of depressed for a week. But at least, I don't look pathetic trying to cover something that, as you said, I have no control over.

It's kind of weird that you are calling others "pathetic" for whatever measures they take to deal with thinning hair when you yourself, by shaving it, are also doing something to cover up the fact you have thinned or developed bald spots.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Is this partly in Swedish?

99% sure he's had several procedures. Hairline is not quite natural looking plus at times I've seen him where it looked like he was in the process of having work done. Not disparaging him or anyone that gets work done.

I wonder if you would make that plantation, how do you prevent it from happening.
