What? Social media didn’t give it to us straight? I’m shocked.
Interest is good, but we need to get this guy before someone else does.

I feel like Cozens would be going back the other way. Vancouver is going to want someone to fill the void when Pettersson is traded. Also Cozens seems like a good fit out in Vancouver much closer to home and maybe Rick Tocchet can turn him around. It has been reported that they want to bring back a center in a deal, making it difficult to figure out who they would replace Pettersson with, at least temporarily.
Power/Byram
Cozens/Quinn/Peterka
Krebs
Well that would be perfect.I feel like Cozens would be going back the other way. Vancouver is going to want someone to fill the void when Pettersson is traded. Also Cozens seems like a good fit out in Vancouver much closer to home and maybe Rick Tocchet can turn him around.
If we get a top 4 pick can we please move it for an established top line forward ? And I will be sick to my stomach if we draft another dman with a high pick especially another LHD.
Assuming we will be disappointed soon -
After all the reports saying that Vancouver wants a puck-moving D for either JTM or EP40.......if EP40 gets traded with no puck-moving D going back........us not getting EP40 will basically be entirely on Cozens' inability to perform this year (though frankly Norris hasn't been much better this year).
If we don't get EP40 because Kevyn didn't want to trade Cozens........................................I would think that not getting Pettersson isn't going to be on any player for the reason it doesn't happen but would be the GM being unable to consummate a deal yet again.

Now, I completely understand why Vancouver wouldn't want Cozens (or Norris). But we've got 2 puck-moving LHDs that Vancouver should covet and a BOATLOAD of attractive young players that Vancouver should want.
There really isn't much of an excuse, assuming that EP40 really does get traded (and again -- I've got ZERO idea why Vancouver would be trading him), other than that Kevyn is too attached to the players in this locker room and the young kids he drafted.
Adams f***ing idiot. We have a lot of proof that Adams is too attached to his players since he's tried to rely upon three kids to be his 2nd line for 2 years running with disasterous results. We have proof because his public comments are that he's expecting to have to pay them - even though their play has not warranted it - and therefor hides behind those future deals for further reasons why he takes no action in the now. I haven't seen someone this attached to their own picks since Bowman.
f***, we need send better offer.
I don't think I'd do a 2025 1st with no protection, given how high that pick is likely to be. But, I'd do a 2026 1st unprotected with zero hesitation.I would have no problem trading our 1st even without protected, but I think it is a valuable asset and the deal could have looked different.
I would think so, but then again the Canucks wouldn't get any other good part because this 1st is currently in the top 3, and that's potentially Hagens or Misa. You just have to find a compromise and outbid other teams. Although it's possible Alvin will look at players who can help him now, I hope he doesn't insist on Kulich.I don't think I'd do a 2025 1st with no protection, given how high that pick is likely to be. I think he can just talk to Dahlin. You can't make excuses not to trade for a player like that, so you have to show him in the offseason that you're serious about the playoffs. But not just him, everyone, Dahlin, Thompson, Tuch, I just think they're going to be gone after '25-'26 if they miss the playoffs again and have a top-10 season. The problem with a potential any EP40 deal is he has a full NMC starting next year.
He also is paid 10M in signing bonus next year with 4.5M in actual salary.
So there is a not impossible scenario in which we trade for him, he plays out the year, collects his signing bonus....and then says "trade me to one of these 5 teams" and sits on his signing bonus and waits for a deal to be done. The potential of losing 4.5M is tiny compared to his 92M total contract. And the Sabres would need to swap the asset fast as they need to make the playoffs, so they'd likely be taking a big loss asset wise and a 10M cash hit for their time.
So, before any deal gets done, the Sabres would need to speak with his agent and get his interest in actually coming here, because its likely he is probably salty about how things turned out in Vancouver after signing an 8 year deal.
Hockey players don’t hold out, so I wouldn’t expect this. The problem with a potential any EP40 deal is he has a full NMC starting next year.

We've already done the "players who want to be here" thing. Still haven't made the playoffs. The problem with a potential any EP40 deal is he has a full NMC starting next year.
