OT: The Music Thread: Part X

Metal Monday's.

If time & interest permit, perhaps you, Ozzy & others might inaugurate this weekly feature.

Not a metal guy, but would appreciate the contribution and learning about the genre's best (or favorites).

Give the idea some thought.

Characteristically biased and lame, but a starting point for neophytes like me,

Not strictly "metal."

Lamb Lies Down one of my favourite albums.

My brother Michael was big on this one in high school.

Never much for the Pogressive R⁰.ock.

He would get high, drink his Coke, and chomp his barbeque Ruffles.

At that point - 10th grade -- I could no longer abide weed.

Mike and I would ritual a meeting. He with his Coke, Mountain Dew, and weed.

Me, though well thirsty for booze even then, standing by and spending time together.

Late '70s,

Two favorites from my favorite album from the 80s, Steve Winwood's "Back In The High Life"

I was the same age as "Little" Stevie Winwood when I heard their first record. I had bought an acoustic guitar from Sears & Roebucks with a harmonica.. I never could tune the guitar and think I blew into the harp backwards.
There goes show biz. But "Little" Stevie sure could.

Everyone thought he was some old blues guy not a 15 year old bloke.

From Georgia probably

Forget the four nations tourney or whatever it is , Marchand should be checking in here to get ready for the playoff run

OGAG,

We share a bond.

1] You have been open about your history with mental illness. I shall add that I have one of my own.

2] Those who know pain know comedy,

  • "If you have no tragedy, you have no comedy. Crying and laughing are the same emotion. If you laugh too hard, you cry. And vice versa." — Sid Caesar
  • "Those who do not know how to weep with their whole heart don't know how to laugh either." — Golda Meir
  • "The beauty of the world has two edges; one of laughter, one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder." — Virginia Woolf
  • "The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain." — Kahlil Gibran
  • "The wit makes fun of other persons; the satirist makes fun of the world; the humorist makes fun of himself... The wellspring of laughter is not happiness, but pain, stress, and suffering." — James Thurber

Those who understand human nature possess a keen appreciation for the nonsensical, the non sequitur, the meaningless, and most of all, the absurd.

You sir, are of this tribe.

I salute you,
