It’s understandable that you thought what you did. Adams did next to nothing to help the team after stating the goal was making the playoffs.I stand corrected. Everything's a blur anyway.

Its not a dramatic failure its a symptom of the bigger problem. Try not to get hung up on the players themselves but the process Adams took in the offseason to get this team to the playoffs.
Make a list of all the players Adams has signed and traded for. Now how many are still in the NHL?
Its a sign that Adams doesn't know what he is doing.
This was my point about bringing up Malenstyn.
I said the issue isn't Malenstyn per se. The issue is the process and focus Adams had in the offseason to improve the team.
A team not in the playoffs isn't going to make the playoffs because they changed their 4th line yet this was his focus in the offseason.
Whatever.
14 years of Pegula ownership, 14 (likely) years of no playoffs.I'm finding it harder to really care about this top 6 Forward, top 4 RHD situation and every other Sabres talking point. Nothing ever seems to change for this organisation. We just keep needing more and more because good things stop working constantly. I don't have a favourite player on this team anymore, I haven't bought a new Sabres jersey since 2014 and it was a blank jersey because I wasn't sure if I wanted Reinhart or Eichel's name on it. I haven't gotten excited for Sabres hockey in who knows how long because no matter what good happens, its followed by disappointment. Any and all good will achieved within a few games quickly becomes fleeting. I don't understand how teams can go 16-5-2 in the opening of the season and finish with 60 or more wins. As a fan of those teams, What's it like watching more wins than losses? Whats it like when the strength of schedule is always in your favour because you are the apex predator of the league. What's it like that when you take a loss in between those 60 wins where u can go to bed knowing your team will be fine. Whats it like to watch the standings only because you want to win the Presidents trophy?
Think about the generation of kids in Buffalo the Sabres have lost who have become Golden Knight fans, or Panthers fans or any other successful team playing a good brand of hockey because the Sabres have been miserable to watch for more than a decade now. If you think about the age of the players being drafted, none of them have ever seen winning hockey in Buffalo, if they had they would have been too young to remember.
How do you teach kids coming into the league the pride of wearing the Sabres logo when the only players who could have taught that and passed it down were jettisoned away for a massive scorched earth tank job that failed to acquire the true target in McDavid? Kids are coming into an organisation that is mired in losing and we are hoping they can rewrite history by making this a winning franchise but these kids are only losing and struggling to find ways to win, struggling to find wins on back to backs struggling to find consistency to the point of what are they suppose to pass down to the kids coming into the organisation? You have losing kids teaching new kids on how to win? Its a recipe for disaster.
This is the cycle we are in and it reminds me of the Browns, the Giants, the Titans and the Jets. Teams stuck in a cycle of losing trying to find ways to win by shipping out good players and those players finding success on other teams (Saquon Barkley) being the biggest notable. He's in interviews saying hes finally having fun playing.
Whats the common denominator between those teams/us and the good teams.
Ownership. You saw how dysfunctional the Giants were letting Saquon walk and him going to the Eagles by watching Hard Knocks, then later releasing Daniel Jones who they doubled down on in the show. Look at the drama in New York with the Jets and ownership saying they dont want Rodgers but the coach saying he's there to stay. Look at Jerry Jones fumble that Cowboys organisation into the ground, sure Cowboys have had some success with the playoffs but how many playoff games have the won?
Being at .500 is not good enough for year 5 of Adams and coming up on year 14 of Pegula. Something needs to change, either a philosophy in ownership or new ownership. Adams should not be here anymore after his numerous failures to address this team in any meaningful way. Pegula needs to step back or leave.
He didn't ruin anything. He just stuck us in mud.So if the sabres not doing anything , just good so Adams is fired this summer. He ruined this team , the team is not passing the eye test
Question: Did J Skinner have a reputation of diving in Buffalo?
Okay thanks. Just wondering if the Oilers are getting the ol SCREWJY by Colin Campbell. He had that in Buffalo and in Carolina.

IMO, a much more hated location. But I won't get into it over here lol.I mean, he's in a much more important location now than he was in either of his last two spots - the disaster that is the Sabres and the long pre-Dundon playoff drought of the Canes. Figure he's going to get more scrutiny.
Granted, he usually is among the league leaders in penalties drawn. And sometimes, he may be a bit too method with his response to being fouled.

That is interesting about his penalty drawing ability though, never really considered that aspect of his game. Honestly, with how much the Avs dive in our conference, I don't even mind if he squeezes a few extra calls from the Refs with some embellishment. It's not how I'd like the game to be played, but its unfortunately how the game has evolved with shoddy reffing.
Very interesting. I'll have fun digging into this. Thanks. Some old data - IcyData » Penalties Dashboard

At this point, I would welcome some fire in Skinner's game and that includes pissing off players and/or refs.Welcome! He will get called for some dives and there are clearly refs who hate his constant yapping but he will draw penalties. At some point players lose their temper with him and do stupid things that are hard to ignore.
I laughed because you laughed because I brought up a question we both thought was worth questioning. We both thought it was worth questioning then you thought you brought it up lol. This place is fun!
NYC fooks so many and the price of any Add to our team should ONLY BE picks and prospects like we sent to Edmonton or wash We aren't getting these players without our key pieces that have ten years left in the nhlRangers continue to slide and apparently Drury's message hasn't worked. There's probably going to be some shake-up there, there are some interesting players to trade.
D: Fox, Schneider, Miller, Lindgren
F: Panarin, Kreider, Laf, Trocheck, Cuylle, Kakko, Chytil
I would trade any player on the roster on the right deal except Benson. This team is treading water, but I would also like to start with the least amount of bloodshed and not trade everyone, but for me the players on the roster are available, there should be almost no untouchables. There aren't many teams in the NHL right now that are willing to trade their good players for our prospects and picks, so there aren't many options out there. I just noted the extended list of Rangers players that might be interesting, that doesn't mean they are trading Fox or Laf, that's just a list. I'm also not against a little shakeup if that's what it takes.NYC fooks so many and the price of any Add to our team should ONLY BE picks and prospects like we sent to Edmonton or wash We aren't getting these players without our key pieces that have ten years left in the nhl
the only ranger that might be worth a roster player that totally cared in playoffs is panerin
trochek and kreider are good at low cost at last minute as we have no idea how Tiffany twisted they and those they bring In affect our place to surrender the ridiculous roster players the posters here think we should give up
look at the bills youth college buy in football geeks are we ready for worldly? only ruff knows I'll trust him over any poster
Ruff you and I like the right player . Quinn and cozens can also be Benson same w our D If Adams is smart he trades 1st and a prospect to ADD not subtract from what LIKELY may be we aren't the st Louis Blues ( a player away)I would trade any player on the roster on the right deal except Benson. They may or may not be. I'm not saying let's trade everyone, but the problem is that few teams need our futures, other teams also want to win here and now, especially in the east the position of the teams in the table is very tight. If we can find a deal for example for top 4 RD with a package of prospect + Jokiharju + maybe a pick, of course do it.Ruff you and I like the right player . Ruff needs 20 more games to see really what WE already have before gifting it for setting Sons
