Well, Jokiharju has already settled in there, he keeps coming back.
Freddy Krueger does that too
Well Idk, we may have different options.

Peterka - Thompson - Tuch
Benson - ROR - Cozens
Zucker - McLeod - Quinn
Malenstyn - Krebs - Greenway

or something else
I donr want ROR if he was on a $m contract. Not taking that contract.
CBJ and BUF are poor trading partners. CBJ doesn’t need what BUF has imo. Especially if it’s restricted to pure futures.

Maybe they’d bite on Helenius - Jiricek
No way am I trading Helenius nor Wahlberg.

I send them Johnson and Rosen and they include something in pick/ prospect

I do not see why we'd trade for Jiricek. Like at all. Do we need a RHD? Yes, RIGHT NOW. We do not need a guy that might take another year or two before he becomes an NHL regular. We've got Komarov and Strbak and McCarthy who are on similar timelines to Jiricek (maybe a year behind) and Kleber coming about a year or two behind them. And if Adams would do the right thing and sign Metsa....he's a guy that could theoretically be a 6/7 guy for us next year.

Our future at RHD is pretty bright, especially as it regards defensively-responsible/physical guys.

We need a top 4 RHD right now. Like yesterday. Or the day before. Jiricek doesn't move that needle at all.....

I like our as it sits right now. If we can improve it via trade, of course you do it. We do have an abundance of good forward prospects that potentially won’t see a call up for a while.

I would offer Rosen and a draft pick. Jiricek would potentially fill an organizational need at RD in the future.
Our organizational need at RHD in the future is pretty damned low. Between Komarov, Strbak, McCarthy and Kleber (and Brunet and hopefully Metsa)....ONE of them is likely to hit.

Our organizational need at RHD is RIGHT NOW (and next year and maybe the year after).

A somewhat forgotten positive from Buffalo stacking points is it may make them a more attractive place to play. Perhaps the pool of players willing to waive their NMCs to play in Buffalo will grow. It'll take more than a decent 20 games to grab players attention. If theyre still in a WC spot at the 40 game mark...who knows? Players may view them as a young team on the rise.

Ruff brings some more credibility to the team atleast.

To an extent yes. Our right D consists of Byram, Joker, Clifton and Samuelsson … 2 are left handed shots. But eventually between Dahlin, Power, Byram and Samuelsson we are going to have a lot of salary tied up in 4 defensemen. So trading a forward prospect from an area of strength for a RD prospect (pick 6, 2022) rumored to be on the trade block gives us a cost controlled asset in an area of need.

Would like to make a trade Quinn for Crouse but not ready to give up on Quinn. Would love to have Crouse and make us tougher to play against.

I don't see a good match with Utah other than Quinn

a top 10 nhl drafted is usually in the nhl by their 20 yr o lo d season. It might wait a yr due to NA hokey sdjustment.

2nd round D picks usually arent nhl ready till D+5 yr.

Those I dont see till 27/28 or 28/29. Maybe 26/27 in strbak if signed this spring

Yes buffalo nerds a RD for next yr who can play mid pair and be a bridgre to the prospects developing

Jiricek would be nhl ready next season

Ryan Johnson was drafted 2017 in the first round and is a prospect that a lot of people were high on , myself included. With that same timeline, Strbak, McCarthy, Kleber are ready sometime around 2030, if ever. Komarov is certainly no sure thing to make the nhl, let alone be a top 4D.

Jiricek would be our best prospect and at a position of extreme value and need. If he's available, I'm calling.

Rosen, Samuelsson/Joki, lottery protected 1st

this is insane to me… after literal decades of not having ANY high scoring men as of today…

Dahlin 4th in dman scoring, Owen Power is 12th and Byram tied for 19th… our D is going to be a PROBLEM. All 3 have vast untapped potential even Dahlin. Power will be a top 10 dman in his own right soon.

This team is a true top line forward away from being a real playoff team. Quinn, Ostlund, Kulich, Rosen, the 2025 1st and even Benson should be available .

the only reason people are high on RJ is because he actually signed, he's not that special.
He's no Jiricek, that's for sure.

I still believe Johnson is capable of being top 4 at some point. My point was that Strbak, etc. are far from a sure thing and don't have anywhere near Jiricek's ceiling.

If CBJ trade him I think it'll end up looking like a mistake. I want the Sabres to be on the winning side of one of those, and a big RD with his potential would be a coup.

I'd rather throw assets around to find a 2C. But if I'm looking for a partner for Power then I'm casting my net for someone more established than a blue chip prospect. Knock on Vegas's door and see what it would take to pry Whitecloud or Korczak away from them. Both of them have had years of solid coaching behind them and should have an immediate positive impact.

Hr was drafted in 2019. Hed be playing in the nhl this yr if buffalo didnt acquire Byram

Strbak and mccarthy were drafted in 2022, kleber 2024. Kleber could be 2029/30. The other two could be nhl in 26/27 as a call up

I look at them similar to mccabe. Sign them after college, they play a fee games. The next yr thry are generally full time in AHL, the next year they could earn a job

I see strbek/ McCarthy the same timeline. Just dnt know when they sign mccarthy is a near certain to sign with buffalo given it's his home town team and he could wait till after senior yr of college. Stark you may want to sign him this spring or 26 spring after jr yr

Jiricek would be our best prospect and at a position of extreme value and need. If he's available, I'm calling.

Too much. Not trading a 1st.

466 straight posts of saying we need a top 4 RH dman....and here we are saying the same shit while 1/3 of our defense is dominating league scoring and we barely talk about that.

Btw whoever gave me a one day ban for nothing can tell me in a PM.

I donr want ROR if he was on a $m contract. Not taking that contract.
I don't know how he could make a million considering he's still a good player and I don't think his contract is bad.
At least I would think about it, although I like Helenius, but Jiricek too.

Wait a minute. Trading for Jiricek doesn't mean we can't add another top 4 RD veteran for 1-2 years.

All of these guys are far from the NHL, Jiricek is much closer, he is also a better prospect than all of them.

Byram. I'm not sure he will start next season with the Sabres. While I like his game now, I'm not sure.

I don't see a problem trading one of our forward prospects for Jiricek if we don't weaken our roster in any way.
Would like to make a trade Quinn for Crouse but not ready to give up on Quinn. Would love to have Crouse and make us tougher to play against.

I would just try to get someone similar for less. Maybe Frederick, maybe someone else if you dig around.
I'd rather throw assets around to find a 2C. But if I'm looking for a partner for Power then I'm casting my net for someone more established than a blue chip prospect. I already suggested this, this is also an option, but as I was told, "Nobody is trading right now."
