The ‘no help’ and ‘team sucked’ narrative is just an excuse.

Cristall, Honzek and Barlow all played with nobody and still out produced Danielson and are younger. Danielson projects as a defensive centre more so than a two way Center. This is his last season of sleigh I kitty in the WHL because he is a 2004 birth.

The kid failed to produce and that is the bottom line. It’s junior hockey Only 4 kids in the last 10 years have been taken top 15 with such a poor offensive production profile in his aged 18 year season in CHL. Every single one of them has failed to score at the NHL level.
He would be breaking historical norms if he actually does score.
This 100%

Wasn't my first choice but he was my second highest center remaining. Woulda preferred Dvorsky but I'll take Yzerman's word for it.

I love how people here are still sooo super confident in how these picks will turn out in spite of endless evidence to the contrary year after year.

I can understand being bummed the guy you wanted was picked by someone else, but people are acting like Yzerman passed on Bedard.

If Wood is there, he should be the pick. He’s the closest things we’ve seen to Mark Stone in years.

Benson is a midget and plays left wing. Why is he a better fit than a big center?

Are you guys building an AEW roster or a hockey team?
