Gotcha.
3 years of 1/2 measures, and um-teen experienced 7/8 plug-in fillers is all we get and a head coach afraid to insert youngsters with skill & potential to any real playing time in all situations and gaining experience.
Something has to change, and that is most viable with trading a Connor or Ehlers and our Captain $$$$$ -bags. I do not advocate this approach, but...??

Glad you are not advocating trading Connor or Ehlers!

I think what Chevy needs to do is spend futures quite heavily. We don't need futures right now and we don't need quantity. We need quality. We do have some quality assets that we can afford to bundle without giving up any core assets.

Ah so that is where they are.

Yeah most of them went elsewhere. I feel bad for the kids who decided to stick around and wait. 2022 to prospect Shane Wright didn't play at all this season. That can't be good losing a year of development at his age.

If Samberg and Heinola develop quickly, the Jets could ice very solid 3 pairings with only one FA signing.

Morrissey-DeMelo
Samberg-Pionk
Heinola-Savard

PB: Stanley/Poolman

Good blend of size/skill/offence/defence on each pairing.

Is Savard still attainable?

No one is taking on Wheeler's cap hit at his age. He's retiring a Jet so I'd throw that idea out the window. Not that it isn't a good one but the Jets aren't going to move him.

Some interesting info about some of the top players highest and lowest rankings I've seen.

Owen Power - High: 1, Low: 6
Brandt Clarke: High: 1, Low: 10
Luke Hughes: High: 1, Low: 11
Simon Edvinsson: High: 1, Low: 12
Matthew Beniers: High:1 , Low: 15
William Eklund: High: 1, Low: 17
Kent Johnson: High: 2, Low: 12
Dylan Guenther: High: 2, Low: 14
Carson Lambos: High: 2, Low: 25
Jesper Wallstedt: High: 2, Low: 32
Aatu Raty: High: 5, Low: 32
Fabian Lysell: High: 5, Low: 26
Sebastian Cossa: High: 7, Low: Late 4th
Cole Sillinger: High: 8, Low: 20
Corson Ceulemans: High: 8, Low: 40

This draft is just all over the place and as we close in on the end of most of these kids seasons no one has even come close to emerging as a surefire top 5 pick let alone #1.

I'm focussing on those #32 ranked players, exactly where the Jets will be drafting this year :)

L'hreaux would be a good pick for us towards the end of the first. Could use some edge and nastiness in our forward group. Heard he compares nicely to a Marchand type.

Yeah kid plays on the edge quite a bit, not sure if he's on the Jets radar for that reason. Jets tend to steer clear of the kids with big attitudes in the 1st round. He's one of those big risk/big reward types.

Canada is just destroying Sweden at the u18s. 7 to 0 in the 2nd right now. Lots of players look good including Bedard who made a beauty pass for a goal earlier. Standout has been Clake on D for me

Who stands out as possible players in around where we'd likely pick?

8 to 0 now. Shane Wright with the Hattrick 1 Even strength goal,1 PP goal and 1 SH goal. His line with Guenthar has been dominate

Shit the Bed for Shane ?

Lots of good prospects coming up in these next couple of drafts. Have a feeling we won't be bad enough to get any of them without some major lotto luck and missing the playoffs. We get Arizona in our division next year and with how everyone else is playing. Will be tough not to finish in the top 4.

Anyone catch your eye in the game that might be around when we pick?

Whatever teams get Wright and Bedard are going to be extreamly lucky. Look as close to sure fire #1 elite C's as you can get.

I was only able to catch some of the game and was trying to watch Corson Ceulemans. Didn't stand out in a flashy way (although that's not likely his game), but I thought he moved pretty well and moved the puck well. And he's got good size.
