Not much on wing?

You're seriously underrating Berggren. The guy put up one of the best seasons ever by an under 21 player in the SHL. Also there are other guys that look like they could be good players for us on the wing. I think we spend our 2nds on c/w types. Maybe the late 1st.

The only thing that worries me about Berggren is his size...he is listed at 5'11, 185 lbs, which means he's likely 5'10, 180 lbs. He's gonna have a hard time at the NHL level.

Edit: Berggren's skill level combined with his size makes me think he's either a first liner or he's not in the NHL at all. There isn't much of an in-between for him.

It's on the small size, but there's quite a few players that size that have been successful like Tatar. (I never use Marchand as a comparison because the little prick is ridiculously strong for his size.)

I get more concerned when they're Raymond/Hirose size (160 lbs).

Berggren is gonna have a tough time because he's a playmaker and this team can't shoot, lol. We're gonna see just how bad everyone is at receiving passes and shooting, especially one timers.

I know the Eriksson contract was bad, but there was only 1 year left.. OEL could end up being a much worse anchor for them.
Garland is a nice add.. but 9th OA could literally be Luke Hughes or Kent Johnson..

Don't love this for Vancouver.

Jeebus... Vancouver...

Maybe I'm too much of a scaredy cat.

Pretty easy decision to make when you know if you're not a decent playoff team you have no job there. I mean Benning is banking on OEL turning it around. If he doesn't he loses his job, but Vancouver is hung with a pretty awful contract for a long time, really a few of them might turn out that way, I guess we will see. They have talent, but this is a pretty easy move to see from a hot seat GM, he won't be there for the consequences if it goes really poorly.

Was Tatar really much more than a fringe NHL player most of his career?
