just glancing at McKenzie's list this draft feels surprisingly as expected so far for such a chaotic year other than that Ottawa pick

21 picks in so far and it's been the top 20 on that list plus the 29th(the Ottawa pick)

I like how Dallas took the #40 guy on that list immedietely after I typed this

Wow Wallstedt LIVES in Lidstrom's street and we still didn't get him. Hopefully Edvinsson +Cossa is better than Eklund + Wallstedt in 5 years.

All these connections to the Wings... There's obviously something they just loved that much more about Lil Sebastian.

I wanted Eklund, We took Edvinsson.
The trade up is fun. We never trade up.

I can say this guys, Going Goalie and D is better early than later as they take longer to develop.
So I like that we have been focusing on the core Defence before the forwards.

Skipping over Eklund may be a mistake BUT...

If anyone should know, its Hakan Andersson. So I expect we have his stamp of approval on taking Edvinsson.

You make it seem like Cossa being a consensus first rounder isn't a thing. Or that Edvinsson a clear cut top 9 pick isn't a thing.


These are not just Tall Cromagnon men who should be late round picks. I get you don't like the pick, which is totally in your right. But at least be honest about it.

But size is an undeniable advantage, all things equal, when it comes to stopping pucks. It feels like Yzerman is scouting his own Ben Bishop or Pekka Rinne to groom.

Blows my mind how so many fans can feel so strongly about the most under scouted draft in history. Pro scouts have no clue how to feel about a lot of these players, but some of you have your minds made up after watching a 3 minute YouTube video. What’s the point of a GM/scouting department if we can just run a HF poll to decide each pick?
