A lot of us are just really desperate for a fun, offensive dynamo talent. Something we haven’t had since Datsyuk. Eklund could have been that guy.We walk away with a top pair defenseman, the goalie of the future in the first and people are losing their minds…hilarious!!
Because some of us have actually invested the time and money to pay for things so we can watch games and tournaments and draft guides and scoured shift by shifts and got our hopes up for certain players. Same way that fans can watch red wings games and like guys like Mantha or AA or Nyquist and others can watch those games and hate those players. Doesnt make one person perfect, its just that people have their preferences. I happened to prefer McTavish, but he went 3rd. Next was Hughes, but he went 4th. Next was Eklund or Guenther, but they took the project D. Not my most favorite outcome. Sorry. Hopefully Im completely wrongBlows my mind how so many fans can feel so strongly about the most under scouted draft in history. Pro scouts have no clue how to feel about a lot of these players, but some of you have your minds made up after watching a 3 minute YouTube video. What’s the point of a GM/scouting department if we can just run a HF poll to decide each pick?
Next season. There's a lot of guys in the top ten next year that can be the pivot on a great top line.A lot of us are just really desperate for a fun, offensive dynamo talent. Something we haven’t had since Datsyuk. Eklund could have been that guy.
Having an investment in the prospects is a lot more fun and emotionally satisfying than just slobbering on the team's knob for every move they make.
Yzerman has been hitting it out of the park so far this off-season, but he's really reaching on these picks.
I’d honestly rather hear from Draper, he’s more likely to say something notableWonder if Yzerman will do a presser tonight.
Just need Sammy Helenius at 38 to cap things offNashville knocking it out of the park, too.
Crap. Is this going to be another 2017 NHL draft? Again? So soon?
I mean, we could have went wingerLooking at the selections, it amazes me how badly we needed a center and still underestimated the value of centers in this draft.

See the thing is both of our picks are high ceiling guys rather than Rasmussen who was a low ceiling guy picked ahead of other high ceiling guys. They weren't either of my guys, but neither was Seider and that worked out.Nashville knocking it out of the park, too.

It would have been cooler if he picked his own Henrik Lundqvist or Andrei Vasilevski instead of a Ben Bishop. Like a lot cooler.
No, I'm not saying we should have done anything differently. What I'm saying is anyone with even a remote chance of becoming a center went early. Those were reaches.I mean, we could have went winger
