We were going to lose him for nothing anyway if what you say happens. Unless you feel a forth rounder is something.

I feel he might take less to stay with us like Kreider did.

Was that the offer? Can't understand why a contender wouldn't offer a mid/late 2nd for him.

If this Draft is even better than last years like most are saying then with two picks in the lets say 12-22 range we could be adding a couple of guys like Newhook/Krebs/Caufield/McMichael or better.

This draft is supposedly deeper. It depends if Gorton flips one of the picks or moves up. But yeah pretty good.

You'd think with 15 million in cap space Gorton would have been out here taking on an expiring bad contract from some desperate team in need of space

But alas

I think it's more funny that Carolina could go from having 2 1st round picks to having none this year if things go a certain way
ThTs the sacrifice for going for it. We did that for so many years. Hell I remember the year when Sean Day was our top pick at like 80 or something lol

I can't believe people are upset about the Skjei trade . Dude was getting roasted constantly, people wonder how in the hell we're going to unload this guy, hoping Seattle might nab him etc... And we get a 1st with no strings attached for him to clear up space to sign Tony + others, this is a homerun.
It seems to be mostly girls upset on twitter. And you’re right all we did was complain about him. I’m happy we cleared up space and got another first. I have no qualms about this TDL other than HF making me want to pull my eyelashes out. I’ve seen way worse deadlines from the rangers. I really thinks the rangers goal this season is “if we make the playoffs cool if not it’s okay.” And that’s how I feel too.

Also I noticed during the presser they said the car accident didn’t have any effect on the trades made. So I guess they were always set on keeping buch and the 3 goalie sitch.

oh man that'd be glorious.

Toronto squeaks in to #10. Carolina just misses the playoffs and hits the lotto...

I would think that if Toronto gets pushed out of the top 10, the pick goes to Carolina, or us if Carolina also wins the lottery in that case.

Bingo

Sensed a big red flag when trades were being made last week and with all these potential moves the Rangers were making none/one. Like Talbot years ago, the Rangers wait too long IMO.

Kreider - you make the decision to trade him or sign him earlier. You don’t wait to announce it at 11:30 and 4.5 hours before the deadline. Those hours and efforts should be to move Fast and company. Ridiculous

Again you assumptions have as much truth to them (but actually less) than that they were only able to reach this deal with Kreider this morning and that was their priority goal while the potential return for Fast was less then underwhelming (see Namestnikov).

If I'd have seen Skjei dive to his belly, one more time to break up a two on one, it would have cost me a 4k flat screen after throwing my remote at it. So this trade saved me money also.

I too was shocked I couldn't come here at 3 pm.

Lol Names got traded for a 4th rounder. I recall people on here losing their shit when Gorton 'gave him away' for a 4th rounder.
