Toronto's is top-ten protected for a year, so I guess it matters how deep next season's draft is compared to this one.So whos 1st would you rather have? Tor or Carolina?
Kreider staying on a 7 year deal isn't ideal, it's stupid, but if the moves that fall out are Skjei and Strome out, fine. I'll cross my fingers and hope to get at least 5 good years out of him.
The Skjei return is a bit light IMO but ok whatever, they cleared all that space which can now be used towards keeping DeAngelo and have another pick that they can use towards getting another player.
Fast still being here is also dumb, but who knows maybe they intend to keep him beyond the next 20 games.
I don't like how they've forced a window on themselves, but they've still maintained their flexibility. If they want to start winning next year, then you better make the necessary moves this summer and boot the dead weight.
But less likely that they drop out of the playoffs.
Carolina is in the wildcard slot, no?
Well, given Vegas just re-signed him to a 2 year deal, yes it does.My plan to sign Nick Holden on the cheap in the offseason doesn't seem to silly now, does it?
Right? I'm shaking my head at that. A 1st? Full disclosure I don't know much about him as a player but seriously, he didn't stand out much in the game the other night. That Goodrow deal is a weird one....
worse for whom?
Skjei is young with term BUT he has also regressed since he signed so that is probably a reason why he didn’t fetch more. I mean it’s not a bad return. Even in the early 20s you can get a good player in a derp draft. Plus that salary relief is huge for Tony D. It’s a win winHard to believe (not)
