I have seen some talk about him more lately but what is the deal with Pierre Luc Dubois? What type of player is he or what style does he play?

9-12?? Our last 16 games we play SJS, MIN, NSH, STL, COL, SJS, LA, ANA.. ARZ twice, who we never play well against. VAN three times, same thing.

I know we're on a bit of a roll, but those are teams we usually beat. I would be shocked if we finished any higher than 3, which means latest we'd pick is 7.

I was thinking Max Jones as a trade down option. Max Jones is my favorite player from this upcoming draft.

Any chance you think we will take a shot on ronning or kuznetsov in te third? Further more is there value in flipping our 3rds and 5ths for 2nds?

If we aren't looking at those 2 in the 3rd round then we have our heads in our ***es. I'm a huge Ronning fan. As for flipping our picks for a 2nd then maybe, it's hard to say. Chia isn't afraid to make moves so if we really like a player in the 2nd round then we could trade up for him.

The exact kind of winger we need. Big (now 6'4"), quick, 2-way and he can play physical. Total package that some people compare to Jamie Benn. #4 on my list.

Some people like to say his numbers are only high because of playing with Svechnikov and Lazarev. Those people are wrong as Dubois' numbers were actually better when those 2 were at the WJC.

Benoit Pouliot is a comparable imo. Dubois is more consistent with his physical play though.

Ahh, I see. Well, personally I think trading down would be the worst possible thing to do even if Jones is a good fit.

The more I read about him, the more I'd love to see the Oilers draft him if we fall outside the top 3. He is apparently up to 6'4 and is having a heck of an offensive season. I trust his numbers a lot more than I trust Tkachuk's (who is playing with some ridiculous offensive players).

Thanks for the responses on Dubois sounds like a guy who could spend another year in juniors and then come in as a cheaper option for us while playing a style we need. Skilled big guys are always nice I think a winger would do us well in this draft.

I like Chyrchrun and Sergachyev but with our glut of LHD maybe a winger serves us better as we likely are moving one of the 6M guys for a D and need to replace them on the cheap eventually.

@HeavyMcHitter or whoever else is interested in comparing them.

Dubois vs. Puljujarvi

Who do you take? from what I am hearing Dubois just seems like a better fit.

What is all this talk of picking outside of the top 3?

Regardless of where we finish in the standings, come on guys... there are THREE lotteries, and its the Oilers!.... We are guaranteed to troll the league.

I sort of want to trade the pick for a good dman who can help us right away but on the other hand McDavid-Laine :handclap:

I also hope if he's still available after the 3rd round we draft Matt Phillips he's tiny which I think is why he is so under the radar but the kid is very talented

The ultimate hilarity would be winning the draft lottery again after they changed the process to stop us from winning again.

Although if the Oilers won 1st, I could see Bettman stuffing the balls back in while angrily screaming "run it again!!"

I don't see much of Pouliot in Dubois game at all. Different type of player. I'm not a huge fan of the Benn comparison either but it's closer to the truth.

He might have tried that last year, if it wasnt for POLICE and a rep from EVERY TEAM witnessing.

LOL

I wonder if they will have the police again. I remember TSN talking about it.

You will hear the anger and disgust all sitting on the best seat in your house when they draw the Oilers card. . . lol. I think this year no ones going to hold back. If anyone thought the Buffalo Sabres GM didn't hold back. It will be 29 other teams.

A big winger who combines size, skating and skill. A strong skater who can blast past the opposition in full speed. Able to use his size, reach and stickhandling skills to retain the puck in speed. A smart player at both ends of the ice, both on and off the puck. Great work ethic and positive attitude. More of a playmaker than a scorer and could improve his shooting skills. Doesn't shy away from physical play, but could use his size more to his benefit.

Magnus Puljujärvi or Jessi Paajarvi?

I think it's probably just the similar last names lol. But god damn are the scouting reports on these players almost identical haha.

Tage Thompson is interesting. Maybe a decent 2nd rounder.

6'5'' 190lbs C playing in the NCAA. 31 points in 34 games at UCONN. First year eligible, but with a late birthday.

His dad is the Islanders' AHL team's head coach.
