Especially after RB confirmed Hedberg is an evil spy from across the river.
Realistically though, we're a contender. We need a competent back-up. Biron is perfect for that role.

Rumor around the boards is he convinced Stepan to hold out, so Sather sabotaged Marty's wifes furniture store with his cigar buddies.
Marty had to lysol the **** out of the place. It's still smoky in there though. And Stepan is still unsigned.

I can't imagine a scenario where replacing Biron with Hedberg results in significant cap savings.
I can't imagine a scenario where swapping Biron with Hedberg would be worth the resulting savings.
Hedberg is not an NHL goaltender at this point.
Remember when we had Valiquette, this would possibly be worse. Lundqvist will need his rest especially with the extended Olympic season. You can't play him 70+ NHL games this year.
He'll be at nearly 100 games when the playoffs roll around.
Keep Biron or sign a backup for 1 million that is worthy.
Hedberg would be the poorest management decision of the summer.
Well, potentially second. We'll see if Beaver has any injuries when this season is over.

Why is it the players fault? Stepan is seeing everyone around him signing for big dollars why should he give in. He has already said yes to a Bridge deal let the thing play out. He has better numbers than Kadri, Henrique and Hodgson. The kid is worth a lot more to the Rangers those guys are to thre teams!!
