Which would require some shedding, yes? (once Cally and Hags come back)

Cally and Hags are going to be on the cap regardless of whether or not they're out. They're not going to miss enough games to be on LTIR and IR doesn't give you cap relief.

Breaking: Marc Staal now says he feels 110%.

:D thought I'd jump on the hopefulness a little

Everytime Marc says he's 100% like a farmer selling beets saying his beets are the best in the world, it makes me wonder about how well he's actually doing. If he were to say 98%, I'd be like okay, well at least he's honest with the self eval. But the number of times he's said 100% to various sources scares me a little.

He said he's still got some vision problems, but it's as good as its ever going to get. 98% is his new 100%. But if he said anything less than 100%, people would jump on his words so it's probably just easier to say 100%.

We have quite a few interesting things to watch this year.
If I were staal, I'd totally pretend to have no depth perception when shaking AVs hand when meeting him and over reach by a feet.

losing them when we have that killer road trip sucks

I for one is okay with it. The team needs adversity. I'm a big believer in the psychological aspect of the game at a micro and macro level. When Staal was out, Girardi and McDonagh took the challenge on extremely well. Whenever there are injuries, there are potential step ups and when players being things to another level, good things happen with everyone even after the injured players return. Considering we have a Fasth and a Kreider who will benefit from the extra ice time in this early going without being placed in no mans land on the lower lines, maybe we will make something good out of the injuries once the team hits Nov/Dec.

That is a lot of time with Pyatt and Pouliot in the top nine, but there you have it. At least it's early in the season. not late.

Could be Lindberg and Kristo instead of Pyatt and Pouliot, you never know.

Land of no calls..
Pouliot will be in the top-nine regardless. Pyatt was a bit of a question mark after last season, but if he can rebound he's a solid 3rd liner. I'd imagine at least one of Kristo, Hrivik, Fast or Lindberg will make the team out of camp.
