Regardless about Yankees/Red Sox game now, Jays control their own destiny. Same with Yankees. Yankees pretty much knock us out if they win the upcoming series against us. Pressure cooker for sure for the boys coming up. Skydome gonna be electric all remaining 6 games. So exciting Jays have put themselves in this position to come home to. Even if Yankees win tonight, Jays gotta go out and sweep Yankees at home. And move ahead of them. We need Ryu to set the tone first game and be his dominant self when he's on his game. He'll have lots of rest. Can't wait to see Rogers Center rocking again with 30,000 fans gonna be some intense games coming up against the Yankees. So pumped Go Jays Go!!

Red Sox could fall out of a playoff spot as well. Baltimore has rained on their parade before even when they were an awful team (2011)

It might be our best chance or else we have to sweep the Yankees.

But Boston is 12-4 vs Baltimore this season.

Jays Home Games:
10-12 at TD Field (.455) - RS: 124 RA: 110 +14
12-11 at Sahlen Field (.522) - RS: 132 RA: 110 +22
21-8 at Rogers Centre (.724) - RS: 150 RA: 101 +49
43-31 Total (.581) - RS: 406 RA: 321 +85

Need to continue this run as our last 6 games are at the RC.

Ninth best record in baseball for such a young team is no small feat. 3 teams in their division ahead of them. With a bullpen that imploded the first third of the year. It’s hard to not be impressed overall.

Objectively the Jays have the least to lose among the contending teams in AL.

- Rays need to win now given their nature of giving away players after a window (and now they may be moved to MTL)
- Yankees have to win this year given they've spent the annual GDP of Trinidad to field this roster
- Red Sox have been playing over their heads all year and may not be nearly as good next year
- Astros have to win with this core to show people they can actually win without all the cheating

Blue Jays are almost certainly going to be an even better team next year regardless of this season's final result. All the young guys get more experience, full season from Springer/Berrios, big upgrades likely to come in the offseason, and most importantly, a full year at Toronto (something they haven't had since 2019).

we need to win 4 out of the next 6 to make the playoffs.

Schedule:
NYY x 3
BAL x 3

I predict we will go
2-1 NYY
2-1 BAL

and squeak into the WC spot

I'd argue the White Sox have the least to lose because they'll be heavy favourites to win the division again next year and Rodon is the only major piece that could potentially walk. Even if we believe the Twins could bounce back, Royals will take a step forward with their young studs, and/or Cleveland's rotation will be healthier, White Sox ran away with the division this year despite not having some key hitters for at least half the season.

The Jays will have to deal with 3 other solid teams again and could lose Ray and Semien. It will be another dogfight to make the playoffs, so I think there's some pressure this year.

It depends how we win the 4 games, if we win 2 vs NY and 2 vs Baltimore like you predict then there's a good chance we'll make it in via a tie with NY because they will likely lose at least a game to Tampa but if we lose 2-1 to NY and sweep 3 against Baltimore for 4 wins then our season is still basically done. If we don't win the series vs NY our season is 95 % likely to be over.

Winning both series 2-1 will still put us out unless Tampa beats the Yankees twice or the Red Sox go 3-3.

Blue Jays need to win 5 of 6. If they win 4 of 6 they might get a play in game depending on which 4 they win.

It doesnt matter which games because we already have tie breaker against the Yanks. Goal should be 5 out of 6. Anything less I dont think we make the playoffs. If its 4 out of 6 it has to be 3 against the Yanks to pull ahead of them with 3 games to play. Simple.

But 5 out of 6 gets us into Wild Card with most likely a home game in the Wildcard.

Does the tie breaker mean home field in a play in game if they have identical records?
Jays would host NY and on the road against Boston.
