Winrar.

What was the prompt? Lmao.
I think it was something like:
The Canucks goalie Demko had an injury in April and has still not recovered in September. It's apparently a rare injury that hasn't been seen in a hockey player before and has only rarely occurred in soccer players as well (5 or so total times). It's been reported to be a muscle injury, is in the knee area and surgery isn't an option for rehabilitation. He didn't look like he was in serious pain when it happened - more discomfort. What possible injuries fit the description and what is the most likely?
I think I also asked about timeline and prognosis as well which got some of the other details there.

Hilarious if true.

The media is hilarious. While I'm not saying he is ready for game 1 he was doing almost every drill except the one where he hugs the post on one knee.
The only time I'll panic is if we sign Lankohnen but once we signed that pto fodder, I kind of figured he wasn't that far off. Maybe I'm wrong but I can't see Allvin using Silovs and Pitera or Tolipilo, for more than a few games.
Guess it's time to panic then...

so he could be out for 4months.. or longer.. until he gets a thumbs up from doctors to resume skating/practicing.

He is already skating and practicing so thats good

For what it's worth, ChatGPT o1 preview suggests "isolated popliteus muscle belly rupture" after weighing all the info.
This is now my early favourite for post of the season.

What a legend. :D

So popliteal injuries arise from the strain of external rotation of the tibia. Good thing this isn't something a butterfly goalie does on a regular basis...
Yes the repetitive nature of goaltending but given the rarity of the injury it is likely coupled with muscle imbalance around the knee exposing this one muscle to increased strain. An imbalance perhaps occurring do to working through the various other injuries (overworking an area because it seems the right thing to do). Purely speculation based on my myriad of skating related issues lol.

I agree with what you’re saying about the likely cause of the injury. But now that it’s occurred, it seems plausible that the nature of the butterfly style could easily reaggravate things going forwards.

i think his career is over tbh. doesnt matter if he returns or not. theres always a big risk of a recurring injury.

Of course it matters whether he returns or not. Risk of recurring injury is not the same as not being able to play.

This injury sounds like something that is still bothering him that may or may not go away. The question is whether it's safe for him to play. As far as I know he has been practising and no surgery is needed. If what bothers him doesn't go away is it safe for him to play? Like is it just something he needs to play through or is it something that he will aggravate every time.
