Didn't see the third, but I thought the first two periods were pretty evenly played. Pickard made a few decent saves but wasn't asked to keep them in the game in the first 40.

Nice step forward for the team with the win.

Carolina put up a traditional Oilers performance tonight.

Come out meh with no confidence, spot the other team a 2 goal lead, get lucky and have an opposition goal called back, turn it on late only to get goalied by the backup goaltender.
Hey it's a win and in regulation to boot. I hope they take some positives from this.

Yeah except the Oilers can barely push in the third period when they are down. Usually theres some resemblance of a push with like 5 minutes left. But they generally don’t put 16 shots on net when they need to.

Curse of the ‘80s dynasty, how else to you explain this shit? Like the twilight zone.

If Skinner pulled that shit mcdavid did at the end of the game at any point during the game he'd be scratched for a week. Knoblauch is such a p***y of a coach sure hell make the lower level player play accountable hockey but not the big guys.
Skinner scratched? Hahahahaha. He da homeboy.

There was a time (last season lol) when they could.

Your referring to the wrong Skinner methinks.
Yup my wrong

I can get behind this before a 1-1A solution with a new goalie and Skinner. Skinner needs to take his schtick elsewhere.
It’s pretty simple for me. Skinner staying here means he’ll need a new contract. I wouldn’t re-sign him for what he makes now let alone give him a raise. Get rid of him before you’re forced down that road. Pickard isn’t making much more than league minimum and a new contract with him being a backup isn’t going to change that. He’s the guy to keep out of the two.

This is often how these ugly losing streaks end and winning streaks begin. Team plays a pretty decent game, but not as clean defensively as they have shown they can play when they are at their peak, but it gives them some confidence going forward. Then they hopefully build on that next game, and go from there.
