I tried not to laugh, but the way those guys talk just hit my funny bone.

So that's a real show? A couple of guys sitting around eating lunch and talking into a microphone with their mouths full?

All he said was, "He has issues off-ice" and "A couple years ago, I got a call from a buddy of mine who said, I had a chance to see Bryan Bickell's blood test. He's got issues. He won't be an effective forward if he's still got these issues."

Something feels different about this trip around the block.

C'est la grandeur de la vie!

Caught this nugget from the Hawks GM via the Chicago board regarding TT:

"Well Teuvo's had probably the toughest assignment over the last year and a half because he's bounced around so much. We haven't given him a whole lot of stability, we have given him a ton of different responsibilities. He's played left wing, right wing, first line, third line, fourth line. He's played center, he's killed penalties, he's played on the power play, he's played on the point on the power play. So he's done a little bit of everything and I think that sort of speaks to his talent level. I mean we don't have other guys try that because they wouldn't be able to handle it. But he can handle it, but sometimes it comes at the expense of some consistency..."

"I think as he grows more and gets more accustomed to a role; whether it is center or whether it's wing, I think that's probably the first thing we need to sort of decide on over the coming years. I'm not sure where that will be. I think he's played well this year in the middle, but he had a great run in the past on right wing. So I think that's probably the thing, I think he's getting experience, he's getting exposure, and he's showing some maturity and some growth as things go. So I like the way it's trending for him."

I've been reading lot of comments about this trade.

Lots of fans are saying it's not that bad for Chicago as they got rid of Bickells contract, it's a win win or now they can sign a better player and have a better team next year.

But I saw last night a tweet from their guy that Chicago wants to re-sign Shaw, and Shaws new contract would take those savings away, Chicagos depth is gone, and they can't sign better players.
So I really believe this was the end of their contending years, losing Saad, Sharp,Oduya, TT in 12 months.
Kruger is now forced to be their 3rd line C and Shaw is their best bottom6 forward while Seabrook is declining.

While Carolina got a player on ELC that fits for their longterm future plans and has +50 point potential and can be used as a Lw/C/Rw, on pk or pp, very versatile player.

You know, I've given up on giving up on Chicago. Going into last season I had them as a bubble team, possibly even missing the playoffs after trading Saad away for Anisimov, and replacing him with an unknown Panarin. Then they dominated the first 3/4 of the season. Right now there's not another powerhouse in the West, and I feel like some of those big teams are getting old and slow. Also, while I think a lot of non-playoff teams like Calgary and Colorado are catching up, I don't think they're there yet. Chicago will be a threat out west for probably the next 3-4 years.

True, but for next year they have Anisimovs, Seabrooks, Krugers, (Shaws) new contracts kicking in, while also having tied up 21M on 2 players.

I mentioned on the main trade that a year ago when they won the Cup they had a 3rd line of
Sharp-Vermette-TT with Keith-Seabrook-Hjalmarsson-Oduya top4.
Oduya is gone, Seabrook started to decline last year, while Kruger(#4C) is now a 3rd line C with Shaw, or Shaw is a full 1st liner.

This is why drafting is so important, and not losing assets for nothing, Chicago doesn't really have ELC ready forwards who could help.

They needed the savings from Bickell just to fill out the lineup. If they do re-sign Shaw it will be a team-friendly deal, because they need to save money for Panarin next offseason.

Also: we really should have some kind of "Southern Cup Challenge" with Nashville. Whoever wins the head-to-head matchup gets a big jug of moonshine or something.

This trade is legit. We acquire two guys with Cup experience, one who is 21, still on his ELC, and is going to be given a chance to shine here. The other who can be a 4th liner for us and if it doesn't work out, it's only a year. We are on the cusp of having a potentially damn good team. I can already taste the potential success and it tastes delicious. No more hot dogs and hamburgers, soon we will be feasting on steak and lobster. Now, who is hungry?

But ..but.. I like hot dogs and hamburgers.

I'd love if we signed KO. Could you imagine him giving Ovechkin a pop-up powerbomb at center ice?

Oh...you didn't mean this KO, did you?

That's our man. He would look damn good in a Canes jersey. Where dem photos hop skills when you need them?
