One year ago, I really thought Bergevin was shaping up to be one of the best GMs in hockey.

Now... not sure. Things sure do change quickly. Ultimately, this season decides everything.

Well, could be a lot worse. Like being a Leafs fan for example.

Beaulieu's an interesting player. All the tools, strong fluid skater, good offensive skills, just not sure on the toolbox. But the potential is easy to see.

I wouldn't be in a rush to trade him personally, but if the offer was high enough I'd consider it. It would leave a gap on D no doubt, but I think Barberio will surprise a lot of people this year as far as that goes.

And the pissing match commences. Only took a few pages.

I don't know much about Beaulieu, but would this be close?

V. Nichushkin
J. Oleksiak (or P. Nemeth)

But then there the possibility of flipping another D or Beaulieu for a right hand shooting D . Teams that come to mind are Buffalo and Jets need LHD .

I rather do Pouliot + a mid pick . Pouliot is the better player but base on cap hit I would rather him being move , but only if someone like Cagguila is ready for the NHL , Or maybe we put Versteeg on the LW

benoit pouliot who stank with the habs, makes 4 million, turns 30 and scored 14 goals? how nice of you! a mid pick like a 4th or 5th too? terrific!

keep pouliot

why are we adding 2 1sts AND Beaulieu for 2 average players? lol

neither Martinez or Pearson are worth a 1st, then were adding Beaulieu? think about it

Martinez is a top 4 dman signed long term at a good cap hit.

Pearson is a young LW that's a top 6 forward.

If neither of them are worth a 1st, then I don't know how Montreal expects to improve. Also in the deal, they get rid of DD.

Unless they see Sergachev as a top 4 d-man this year, this would be just so insanely idiotic.

Exactly. Beaulieu won't be traded for a forward, makes no sense, but he might be part of a package for a more experienced LD to take off some load from Markov. That would make some sense.

I still don't see that. Who might realistically be available that could be a long term fixture for the Habs? Gardiner for Beaulieu+? Don't see the Leafs being all that interested.

Either Beaulieu for JVR or Landeskog fits Habs LW needs, but the + from Montreal would be the sticking point.
Maybe Beaulieu for Fowler as an upgrade on D, but again it comes down to the + from Montreal.

We have a nice Russian community in Montreal, must be a huge incentive for prospective Russian players.

That's the premise of this thread, my friend ;) I don't think it happens, but it's for the sake of it since calls of inquiries happened.

Woof.

The 1st in 2017 has to be in right?

Is Beaulieu, Sherbak and the 1st reasonable? No Fing way you're getting a McCarron or Sergachev.

The suggestion of a Leafs fans on the other thread is Beaulieu + 1st 2017 + conditional 2nd 2018 for JVR, which I would prefer a lot more than giving up Scherbak. If he has to be included, then it's Beaulieu + Scherbak for JVR, no more, in my opinion.

This is a joke, right?

Pouliot is a legit prospect. Very high ceiling

Beaulieu is literally worthless. No one wants him. Terrible player

I get that you're gonna over-value your guys, but come on. Let's remain on planet earth here

False. From a sabres fan uninterested in the whole matter.

i dont know why habs fans get bent out of gear everytime we hear bergevin is listening to offers for a certain players. thats his job. i dont know if anyone is keeping score but its been twenty frickin plus years since we won a cup. no one on that team couldnt be traded if it meant improving the club. having said that and being tight against the cap beaulieu could only be packaged with someone or traded 1 for 1 for a guy of the same ilk. ie rakall. maybe pacioretty plus beaulieu for rakall and one of fowler vatanan lindholm.
