i dont know why habs fans get bent out of gear everytime we hear bergevin is listening to offers for a certain players. thats his job. i dont know if anyone is keeping score but its been twenty frickin plus years since we won a cup. no one on that team couldnt be traded if it meant improving the club. having said that and being tight against the cap beaulieu could only be packaged with someone or traded 1 for 1 for a guy of the same ilk. ie rakall. maybe pacioretty plus beaulieu for rakall and one of fowler vatanan lindholm.
We get "bent out of gear" because we're already extremely thin on puck moving defensemen under 30 years old.

Adding Pacioretty to a trade to patch the hole that we're creating by trading Beaulieu is just absurd. What's the point of trading Beaulieu for a 2nd line LW if you're trading our 1st line LW in the process? Simply illogical.

He's barely replacement level. Trading anything of value for a guy like Beaulieu is nonsensical. Every team in the NHL has three or four guys sitting in the AHL who can do just as well

How do you think MTL fans would react to this trade:

To Pitt: Sergachev and Plekanec

To MTL: Justin Schultz

Because that's the equivalent of the Pouliot proposal. Only difference is that Pouliot is more polished and likely to succeed than Sergachev

I really hope this is sarcasm.

im doubtful anaheim would do it anyway if it included lindholm. refusing to deal pacioretty and beaulieu for lindholm and rakell would be illogical. lindholm would quickly make us thicker on puck moving defenceman under thirty. maybe anaheim is having problems with their internal cap and may bite. imo the ifference between lindholm and beaulieu is greater than the difference between patchioretty ad rakall. maybe we can sweeten the pot a bit.

Actually you've confused Beaulieu with Pouliot, Pouliot is the one that can't play a lick of defense. He couldnt even crack Pittsburgh's abysmal d-core at the start of the season.. and they really wanted to bring him up last season.

Jets might have interest but at most I think drew stafford would be the only legit player made available. Not a chance for one of our young guns that's for sure

well Stafford is a cap dump so you'd need to try harder than that

You must be joking. Sergachev has far more value than Pouliot.

Well because last time that happened, they traded our franchise elite defenseman "listening to offers" when he should have said he is unavailable... And the hockey world is highly divided wether he made a good hockey trade or he screwed up the Habs' defense for many years.

So him listening to offers doesn't occur to anyone who watched Beaulieu play so far as much of a thing to rejoice. Sure he's doing his job, but he hasn't been doing it amazingly this summer.

Beaulieu and Sergachev should be seen as the future of the Habs D depth on the left side. They're of course going to keep Sergachev (I would hope), but they should also keep Beaulieu. Not sure what Habs management is thinking if this is true.

All sorts of wingers will be available as we get closer to the expansion draft. I would just be patient.

they should also leave sergachev to his RHD where he won the best Dman in the OHL at his rookie season. putting him on the LHD would be dumb and this is exacly what they are trying to do.

This is a joke, right?

Pouliot is a legit prospect. Very high ceiling

Beaulieu is literally worthless. No one wants him. Terrible player

I get that you're gonna over-value your guys, but come on. Let's remain on planet earth here

Sorry buddy but almost everything in your post is wrong, except for the Pouliot part, IMHO.

1-This was a proposition made by a Pens fans...

2-Beaulieu isn't worthless. He is better then Pouliot right now and the ceiling isn't very different then Pouliot's. But i would say they actually have equal value.

Are people really arguing with a '6 posts guy' ? Come on...

As for Beaulieu, he's got a decent value, 24yo, 6'2, excellent skater, move the puck decently, takes a bit of time coming into his own, but Therrien is such a great motivator (LOL) that it sures helps him a lot. Didn't show a lot, production wise, but paired with the right guy, I think he could finally use his skating to have a bit more fun in the offensive zone. Was playing a lot on the right side in juniors too. (actually reminds me more and more of Bret Hedican, very serviceable, great skating polyvalent D). Also promptly defend his teammates, and is fairly good scrapper (got knocked once pretty badly, but since then had 2 or 3 other scraps which faired pretty nicely if I remember)

Now I just wonder why would Bergevin trade him, I actually think he'd have the perfect partner to finally come into his own (Weber), unless we get another young LD, Sergachev is only 18 ffs... dat organization is more and more becoming an omerta, thanks to da system guy (Therrien) and da mastermind guy (Bergevin)...

Does it have to be a LW?

Bozak + Marincin for Beaulieu + Andrighetto?

Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Radulov
Desharnais - Plekanec - Gallagher
Carr - Bozak - Shaw
Byron/Matteau - Mitchell/Danault - Flynn

If we can add DD for a salary cap dumd I would think about this one.

OK...i gotta do it.

To Habs: JVR

To Leafs: Bealieau +?

2nd...
DD...
Emelin...

No offense, but I think its the first time I see two mistakes in a single name
