i really didnt think we had much in the line of cap space. what top 6 left winger is making a million bucks. or did we find someone to take desharnais or emein. not a chance. id do beaulieu for rakell but the last thing the ducks need is another defenceman. maybe a third team involved ?

I think trading Beaulieu would be very risky, it puts way too much pressure on Sergachev. I am confident he will be a great player but this stinks of rushing / setting him up to fail.

The benefits of him going all the way in the OHL outway our need for a strong left handed D.

That being said I can see something around Beaulieu for Yakupov.

Radulov - Galchenyuk - Yakupov
Pacioretty - Plekanec - Gallagher
Carr - Desharnais - Shaw
Byron - Danault - Mitchell / Flynn

Sergachev - Weber
Markov - Petry
Emelin - Pateryn /Barberio

Price
Montoya

Not too bad.

we simply CANT trade beaulieu, i see him paired with weber this year, beaulieu was playing a simple game because we already had subban on top PP minutes and him carrying the puck, we absolutly need beaulieu's speed and ability to carry the puck and he will prove it this year. but were you actually realy going to make radulov play offwing, to put yakupov on the RW??!?! thats absolute madness, radulov because montreal best foward without even playing a single game and you put him offwing, my mind is blown

and wtf are the habs playing... Sergachev won the Best OHL D and they are trying to put him of the left side!? i just cant stand this management anymore

Probably the saddest thing here. Canadiens don't trust one of Lehkonen, Hudon or Carr as the 2LW (rookies) & they don't trust Beaulieu (Therrien benches him after any sort of mistake, doesn't give him ice time).

If/WHEN Beaulieu is moved, it'll be another move to cater to the coach who likely isn't going to be around at this time next season.

We'll add Beaulieu to the list of players Therrien's driven out the door.

It's really awful watching a GM cater moves around a coaching staff that he's given 0 accountability to regarding the worst year in franchise history.

What a joke we've become.

I'm a habs fan and I don't know what he's done to warrant such consideration

It depends what kind of top 6 player. IMO Beaulieu for Nichushkin value wise is about spot on. Two young players who have sky high potential, need more minutes to flourish & develop into said potential.

If it's a sure-fire top 6 guy like JVR for example, then no, he doesn't have that kind of value.

I would love to see nichushkin in a habs uniform, but I just dont see how beaulieu can be moved. As many question marks as he has, he is the only LD outside of markov who can potentially command a top 4 role on a consistent basis.

If they can find an upgrade on beaulieu, great. But they cant just trade him and leave his spot open for internal competition.

He seems to be the only competent partner for Weber so why would you move him? Unless you want a 1000 year old Markov playing with him that is.

give him one more year and he'll be worth more. Pray that Therrien starts trusting the future (Galchenyuk, Beaulieu) more than the garbage (Emelin, DD).

What is going on with Montreal? They could have just signed Perron for free.

Maybe a Rieder for Beaulieu deal could be worked out.

Sergachev need to be one heck of a rookie and that's also something I don't really like. Even if he does succeed right away, I'd still want Beaulieu around the team to be able to take off pressure at any time and replace him with Weber.

That being said, Nichuskin for Beaulieu is definitely something in the realm of possibilities that could benefit.

Kunitz + Pouliot isn't too appealing to me.

As for E. Kane for Beaulieu... ugh. Used to think Evander Kane was a guy we needed on our team, I definitely don't anymore. After the way Bergevin kicked out Kassian who had fully recovered and the way Subban was thrown under the bus and then traded, I can't honestly think Bergevin would go after an actual problem player in Evander Kane...

Still, what I'd like to know, what kind of package including Beaulieu could land a legit LW ?

It's been a long time since Beaulieu was on the rumored market.

What i am hearing is MT doesn't trust Beaulieu to be able to play with Weber (and rightfully so IMHO), so the Habs are on the market for a top 3 D (Fowler and Shattenkirk).

If they can get that kind of player, Beaulieu surely is expandeable.

And i agree, Beaulieu for Nichushkin makes a lot of sense. That would be the kind of top 6 with potential that we can get for Beaulieu.

You ok buddy?? You seem to be overreacting... Radulov has a lot of experience on the RW as well... Please get off your high horse and stop thinking that you are only one that can have a clue on lineup / team chemistry. It was simply a hypothetical and I clearly stated it wouldn't happen.
