Laraque is clear about that. He says Laine have to be buyout. 4m next year, 2,3M the year after. Not that bad. He says there is no way Demidov will have Laine on his line, the worst example for a young player. The Laine experience was thrilling and fun for a while and now we know why he was given free to us, with a bonus of a 2nd round pick. There was a reason and now we know it.

I have no idea why MSL went back to Laine - Dach - Newhook.
A couple of better options:
Caufield - Suzuki - Laine/Slaf

Laine still not playing with Suzuki is just as bad as King's usage of PLD last season. What a waste. He'll end up being worth near 0 next TDL, just occupying a meaningless spot on our lineup for 2 seasons.

That’s so overly dramatic and short sighted, being around Laine for one season won’t do any harm to Demidov’s career. And there’s also many great examples for Demidov to be around next year.
There’s many other reasons to have concern with Laine. Please think of the children is not one.

One thing about MSL, some times he takes time to get the lines right, but he usually gets there.
I think we'll see Laine with Suzuki. It just may take some time. Like Lane on the 1st wave of the PP and Slaf with Suzuki and Caufield last year. They eventually happened.
Laine shouldn't even be on the lineup the way he play. Let alone with Suzuki.
