Did the IIHF change their rules to allow injured players to be replaced? We were already at a full roster

Yes, seems to be the case. They are discussing it here in Switzerland Roster Thread.

Very exciting news for team Switzerland. They are definitely one of the gold favorites with these additions and I hope they go far.forums.hfboards.com
I believe it’s a USA Hockey debut for Brown at any level. Nice to get the opportunity to represent your country. Wonder why he wasn’t there from the jump?Brown is another good soldier. He can hold down a 4th line role and pk for us. He is better than Luke Hughes right now so this is a plus. Sucks seeing other guys heading to play for their countries after playoff loses and not seeing anyone come for us...
Their defense is pretty good but they lack all the key players whi usually score goals for them this year. If Draisaitl comes, he will still be the only natural goal scorer on the team. But this is common problem with mid tier teams... look at Latvia or Slovakia.Germany with 3 regulation losses and only a -3 goal differential is pretty rough.
Kleven probably dragged his ass with him...I believe it’s a USA Hockey debut for Brown at any level. Nice to get the opportunity to represent your country. Wonder why he wasn’t there from the jump?

but you'd think they wouldn't want to sit around on standby if they knew USA was calling up college kids and AHL players ahead of them, hahaThe brass probably wasn't getting much interest from any NHLer of note from teams just eliminated so they went with the ole USA Hockey standby-plan Z.
At the world juniors during Christmas Canada replaced Dach who was injured with Owen Beck so yeah it's an injury replacement allowed by IIHFYes, seems to be the case. They are discussing it here in Switzerland Roster Thread.

All teams can register 25 players included the 3 goalies, then they can still replace 2 players if some is injuredDid the IIHF change their rules to allow injured players to be replaced? We were already at a full roster
Can you replace a player if someone "better" comes along? All teams can register 25 players included the 3 goalies, then they can still replace 2 players if some is injured
It depends on how many you have registered, before the Tournament start, all countries need to register 22 players , then until quarterfinals you can still add 3 more and replace 2 moreCan you replace a player if someone "better" comes along?
