Indeed. And if the Anaheim Swedes also can't go that only leaves:

Lindblom - Pettersson - Olofsson
Grundström - Rask - Eriksson
A.Nylander - Ehn - Andersson

in the NHL as forwards with contracts, & out of the playoffs.
Not threepeating.

But might get some swedes after 1st round.

Oh good atleast Pettersson will feel at home with very little offensive help. Kempe could excel in a bigger role though, so could Lindblom. In Kempes case I’d doubt it though, not sure he has the Hockey IQ. Or I should say very few players (if any) at the same offensive level. It does feel like Kempe was poorly utilized last year aswell, and he’s had a bad year but looked better towards the end he might be poised for a good tournament.

Starting to look like pär Mårts with all no thank you.

Might think it has to do with the location of whc this year.

Isnt there any young talent we can give a chance?

If OEL, N.Hjalmarsson, Edler, Larsson, Klefbom declines then Grönborg is going to invite Jonathan Ericsson, Hägg and N.Kronwall.

heck i would even choose shl defenders over those 3 guys.

Playing every other nights for about 6 months unfortunately comes with a lot of wear and tear, some years there will be a lot of declines. This is a bit worse than I’d hoped for though.
Well, our best players are in the playoffs. But yeah losing Zibanejad, Rakell, Silfverberg, & Bratt to injuries is a big blow considering the other forwards that didn't make the playoffs. Defense should still be great without Lindholm.

Being successful has it's price sometimes. We are paying for our consecutive goldmedals as a lot of the players are satisfied already. "Good" thing Elias was injured in the end of the last tournament so he probably feels that he need to come this year to and play a more important role.

its confirmed that bratt is out?

He isn't going to invite Kronwall, & Ericsson. Doubt Hägg will get invited too. Even if they all somehow decline there'll still be Dahlin, Gustafsson, & Brodin.

– Fingrarna i handen ska magnetröntgas under måndagen och dessutom har jag en ny tandoperation inbokad på tisdag, berättar Jakob.

Hm, it's not like the tournament starts this week...

On a positive note, goaltending looks a lot better than last year if Markström (who had expressed interest in going) goes, especially with Nilsson having a stronger year aswell.

tandoperation..HAHAHAHAHAAH.
It’s Silfverberg... He’s never expressed any interest in representing Sweden ever. This is IMO the least surprising decline so far this year.

Also if OEL accepts again he deserves extra recognition for it.

Remember we have some leverage since we won twice in a row... we could be contenders with Markström, four NHL defenders only and two decent NHL forward lines. Kempe and Pettersson will fix this. Maybe that's why Lander and Rasmussen plays on the national team now. We will find players somehow. There is NO NEED for panic... Players on final team will be the best trained, best educated, best equipped and best prepared...players around.

Will Everberg will be on the team ?

Cool if Klingberg, OEL and Everberg get their third gold medal in a row.

No, but I can't see the Devils sending him to Worlds after missing the last month.

Hope NHL teams have some interrest in letting a young player get experience from international play. Sometimes the doctors on different teams talk to each other. Must be cleared though...

A summary of players with contracts in round 1 matchups:

Tampa-BJs: Hedman - Wennberg
Leafs-Bruins: Nylander - Nordström
Caps-Canes: Bäckström - Wallmark
Isles-Pens: Nobody - Hörnqvist
Preds-Dallas: Forsberg, Arvidsson, Järnkrok, & Ekholm - Klingberg
Jets - Blues: Nobody - Steen
Flames-Avs: E.Lindholm, Backlund, R.Andersson, & Kylington - Landeskog, & Söderberg
Vegas-Sharks: Nobody - Sörensen, & M.Karlsson

Hedman would probably decline due to injuries, Janmark would probably accept even though he has no contract, & Steen would 99.99% decline no matter what.
