"Can't complain about a smaller problem because a larger problem exists" is a common fallacy. We are here to talk about hockey, of course there's going to be complaining about things related to hockey first and foremost. It confuses me that Jalonen caught a lot of flack from Finnish media too based on this very fallacy.
The players are 100% healthy, put on quarantine where they can't see anyone in an unknown place, served cold food and too little of it for an athlete, while sticking sticks to their noses every day. All this for no reason, as actual science doesn't support the need to quarantine a human who had a symptomless covid literal weeks ago. Hardly sounds like a 5 star hotel treatment. But hey, at least Anttila got an exercise bike recently. Again, this is obviously absolutely nothing compared to the treatment of Uighurs for example, but that is irrelevant to the discussion. Team Finland will not miss a few players, but it's a matter of principle, and I fear how the rest of the tournament goes.
I must admit that I was wrong about one thing prior to the tournament though, I didn't think China's quarantine protocol was going to be this big of a problem, and argued so in this forum. I thought that they would try their best not to make anyone mad during the Olympics, but it seems like they don't give a damn.
