I wonder if one of Frolik or Palat can play RW? Vrana is LW and our LW currently has Frolik, Palat and Vrana. That is a really nice LW. Our RW is Voracek and Jaskin.

I'm dreaming of a second line of Palat-Chytil-Vrana but one winger has to be on off wing. Palat is very responsible and so is Chytil. Vrana has amazing skating so let him loose a little. Or Palat on top line switching with Frolik.

The neat thing about Vrana's seasons was that a LOT of his goals were from solo efforts and winning battles. When he gets a step, he's gone!

Sekáč left Czech team due to family reasons (100% wont play at Worlds). In todays match will be replaced by Kubalík.

Shame. Hope family is okay. I'd like to see Zadina, Frk or Kaut get that call to replace him. Let them be the shooter in bottom 6.

Jaskin reminds me of Radek Stepanek or Barbora Strycova. He seems to immediately be better when putting on the National Team colours. He has been one of the most noticable players in this game! Looks really good and just setup Palat for a gorgeous chance. Much like last year at World's, I can't figure out how he isn't an NHL regular now as he looks every bit the NHL style of player.

We simply don't have another player like Hronek... he is so good back there on the powerplay. Like others have said.. a young Zidlicky.
 
Only seen 2nd period but we've definitely been better. Yes, I know the game is meaningless but it's nice to see. I had to look at lineup because I wasn't sure if Voracek was playing... haven't seen much out of Voracek/Simon/Frolik so far.
 
There is Jaskin again... although I think that goal was by Moravcik... assuming it counts (which I think it should). The Jaskin/Chytil/Palat line could be an awesome 2nd line... still no idea where to put Vrana who I think it is one our best forwards. Nice problem to have!

Russian referees. We are used to them from other EHT tournaments. They are usually very bad. Today they even didn't know who to send to penalty box in the 1st period. They said number we don't have on the roster :laugh: as I said they are the worst referees from Europe top 4 (swe, fin, cze and rus) by a mile.

If only Jaskin would play for weaker team in NHL. STL and WSH are so loaded. Send him to Anaheim for example and he'll play regularly.

Really nice game from us. Swedes were off (except Lundqvist) so that helped.

I think my initial assessment of Chytil was wrong. I had him as the 4th best out of Kaut, Zadina and Necas. He looks 100% like an NHLer out there. Looks great!

He was available for free earlier in season... put on waivers... the weaker teams passed on him. I obviously wanted him in Edmonton!

Game 7 for both San Jose and Boston (if it goes that far) is Wednesday... we should be getting at least one more guy from NHL after that - Hertl/Radil, Pastrnak/Krejci, Francouze (and Kaut!). I'd still like to see Sulak coming over... biggest mistake so far.
 
Zatovic wasn't playing today and Riha now talked about him anyway :laugh:... Riha: "I belive Zatovic hasn't said last word yet" ... I'm starting to believe he has locked his spot on the roster :help:

Agreed. He seems to me something like what has been Leo Komarov for Finland in the past. And not just with that half-russian blood. Although Jaskin seems to me to be even more skilled despite having worse stats in the NHL.

I had the same feeling about that. I like Zatovic but not sure if there are many guys I would cut over him.

Zadina got ignored and he is better than Kaut.

Zatovic did not play because he obviously has his 1st line spot in the pocket.

On a serious note, I really like this team and its potential. It's shame that Riha did not invite other young players (Zadina, Kaut, Sulak ...). They could have surprised many people here, in the Czech Republic who have twisted view in regards to AHL.

Whoever is second behind Hronek is not even close IMO. I think Rutta would be our best PP guy is Hronek wasn't around and he's not Hronek. My gut tells me Hronek will have a very good season for Detroit next season.
