How many did I suggest again...one?? And never said it had to be him as the guy but one like him...But go ahead and watch a bunch of old slow men,try and PK against faster younger players
Yeah? So let's say its not JT and its younger and faster players. Which 3rd/4th line "role playing" grinders are going to play on Team Canada past:
Barzal, Marner, Suzuki, Horvat, Couturier, Scheifele, Toffoli, Huberdeau

Please enlighten me, I can't wait.

As a Leaf fan...

J.T. is s-l-o-w.
Not saying he is a bad player, but we need faster higher energy guys that can produce and play a good defensive game in the bottom 6 dont we ?Bergeron is also another player that may not be where he was back then either..Need new blood

I think it is NHL sized ice. Plus, he and Marchand (and Crosby) are GREAT together.
Maybe, but Crosby too looks a little older every year ...I think some new blood could work as well ...Doesnt matter anyhow I will still be there cheering them for gold, whomever is on the team

Bergeron has 4 selkes, a Cup, and 2 olympic golds while still being a selke finalist and near PPG player at almost 36 yrs of age but go off with your null point anyway.
Yep great player covered in glory, but age waits for no one...My point

Well age hasn’t caught up to him which is exactly THE point. L.
Of course it has ask any Bruin fan...The Bruins are no where near the cup contender they once were, playoff team probably ...Cup contender not so much

Lmfao any Bruin fan will tell me that Bergeron is still an elite selke player at 36 yrs of age. Boston as an organization is not indicative of Bergeron as an individual player. You truly are dense.
Lots of name calling with you lol...Bergeron isnt the same player at 36 as he was 26 hense why Boston has declined, they cant replace what he was ...But they cant win with what he has become

Its the age bro..He is 35 years old ,I love the guy but it may be time no??

What 3rd. line in a NHL Olympic tournament within the next year is better than Marchand Sid Bergeron? I can't see one that is better, not the Americans, not the Finns and not the Swedes.

but which role players are you talking about? give me names and how these key "role" players demonstrably improve our chances of winning 3 consecutive elimination games?

Humm troll you say...I do know this whole affair reeks as if I was talking to child with the name calling so I will say good night so as you dont get into trouble with your parents from being up so late on a school night
If trying to call someone a child is your way of trying to get around being dense then godspeed to ya lol. Theres the door, cya!

People need to get it out of their heads that these middle six forwards in the NHL are anywhere near good enough to be on Canada's best-on-best rosters. Danault is an elite checking center and is doing an excellent job this summer, but I'd still take O'Reilly or Couturier 100 times out of 100 because you lose nothing defensively vs. Danault, but you get significantly better offense from those two guys who are the #1 centers on their respective teams and can produce offensively. O'Reilly was the top center, Selke winner and Conn Smythe winner on a Cup champion - would you rather have him on your 4th line, or Connor Brown?

exactamundo. give me ROR and Couts or bust.

I would like to see Danault on a WHC Team Canada roster, however. maybe next spring.

Yeah, Danault, Pageau, Cirelli....all very good young players and outstanding playoff performers, but not skilled enough offensively to play best-on-best for us in my view. I think someone like Suzuki can get there, though - maybe next Olympic cycle.

I'm sure I'll have Suzuki on my 2026 roster as soon as we wrap up medal ceremonies in Feb 2022.

I can't see one that is even close. That is an INSANE 3rd line.

Sid and Bergeron are also in their mid to late 3o,s ,nothing wrong with discussing other options is there??

The are all players that play against the very best on a nightly basis ,in a defensive role in the NHL...Just saying
