So is Mangiopani playing with McDavid or Crosby?
Canada should take him.

I want Canada to make 1 selection that causes HFBoards to get sucked into a black hole of confusion and chaos.

Like Zamuner in 1998.

Maybe they can pick Hyman or Gallagher. Or better yet, Corey Perry.

It means nothing but, of the Top 30 playoff scorers, 18 are Canadian.

Nice to see the boys step up.

Mathew Barzal - Connor McDavid - Nathan MacKinnon
Brad Marchand - Sidney Crosby - Patrice Bergeron
Jonathan Huberdeau - Brayden Point - Steven Stamkos
Sean Couturier - Ryan O'Reilly - Mark Stone
Mark Scheifele, Jonathan Toews

Shea Theodore - Cale Makar
Darnell Nurse - Drew Doughty
Sam Girard - Alex Pietrangelo
Aaron Ekblad, Dougie Hamilton

Carey Price
Marc-Andre Fleury
Jordan Binnington

Assuming Toews is healthy to start next season. Otherwise I like Bo Horvat or David Perron in that spot.

Interesting but I can't imagine Toews making Team Canada in 2022.

Jonathan Toews is not making the Canadian team.

We need goal scorers. If he has a good year next year, why not take Toffoli and leave Marner and Taveras at home?

Save some of that greatness for Feb 2022, Price.

He’s dialed in.

He’s not as flashy as some other guys who rely on pure athleticism. Price is just always in the right place and makes the most difficult saves look mundane.

I did not expect Montreal to beat Toronto and I did not expect them to be up 2-0 over Winnipeg.

No. And I support Montréal
How come?

52 games, 28 goals. Been terrific in the playoffs. Younger than JT. I'm going to assume he's faster than JT - we all are. Based on his Games Played, looks like he's stayed healthy.

Looks like his goal production is up and down but, like I said, his inclusion is based on the assumption that he has a strong fall/winter

I want to get a slice of pizza for the 3rd period of Col/Vegas - I exercised a lot, today, and I DESERVE IT, dammit !!!

Then I went on a nutrition website and looked up a slice with ham and bacon and realized myfitnesspal.com is NO pal of mine. :(

Who do you have on the power play?

I’m thinking Makar at the point, McDavid and MacKinnon on the walls, Point at the bumper (the position he plays for Tampa) and Stone in front the net.

They could put Crosby in front of the net, or at the bumper too.

Insane PP.

For D:

Theodore-Pietro
Toews-Makar
Nurse-Doughty
Ekblad (assuming health) or Hamilton if Ekblad isn’t fully recovered as the 7th D.

Solid mix of size, speed, skill, and experience. Thats about as good of a list as I’ve seen and can put together. Lots of strong two way D men on that list who solid all situations players.

Chabot and Girard just miss, Chabot for me is a lock for 2026 though.

I don't see why you need to stack the blue line with Offensive talent when you have a forward group that deep. As an Isles fan who saw lots of Toews, I can tell you Pelech is significantly better defensively.

As far as transition play goes, Toews has the edge...

Toews is good from a chemistry perspective. It would be a plug-and-play selection especially when MacKinnon is on the ice with them.

I can see Team Canada going down this route.

Although, I have seen Makar switch partners in the same game for Colorado. He's quite a versatile player when it comes to gelling with different types of defencemen.

I have a feeling they're going to go with:

Theodore-Petro
Chabot-Makar
Nurse/Morrissey-Doughty

Now the one question mark is Parayko. Armstrong is the GM and he might want to put the big man in. That could cause Petro to move to the left side and Nurse/Morrissey to get dropped.

He's going to claim they want a bit of tenacity and size on the backend. I don't agree with that but politics unfortunately do play a role in these things. Plus, Parayko has a lot of Canadian experience that could sway them.
