Why the coaching change? Why does know one above like Colliton? Are the Finn's the only team that like their coach?

Claude Julien had a mishap on the ice and got injured. Apparently he's banged up enough to not able to travel to China for the Olympics.

Canada is just not getting breaks right now. I don't really know enough about colliton so I can't comment on him but I feel like a lot of countries are questioning their coach and Julien is excellent. Obviously, Jalonen.

feel bad for him but how on earth did he broke some ribs falling on the ice, I guess he can skate and he really should not participate in the drills....

Was it at practice? I haven't followed the story but honestly assumed he slipped on a sidewalk.lol

I may have read something into it. The quote on the swiss tv web site was the following "The 61-year-old will not travel to China on the advice of doctors because he broke several ribs in a fall on the ice at the Canadians' training camp in Davos."

I don't think you did.. I don't know. I was more asking. As I age, I can confirm the same fall hurts a lot more now than it did 10 years ago.haha

I don´t think that matters a lot, whoever is behind the bench. It´s Canada after all. Jeremy Colliton, if I remember correctly was part of the junior golden team in 2005. And he´s been retired for a while. My god the time goes fast. 2005 was just yesterday.

If I read it correclty, this accident happened during "team building" activity.

We're done boys and girls, we're done.

Julien as coach was our one huge advantage over everyone else.

The new Olympics jerseys are sweet.

Intra-squad game ? Better than nothing I suppose. A couple of fumbles even getting into the starting gate.

Not good enough to play at the 2022 Olympics.

As Szymon Szemberg says, "if you don't compete you don't count."

For all those saying "this is now a joke" due to the NHLers not being here, you have to remember the Olympics are SUPPOSED to be an event showcasing the best AMATEUR athletes in the world, only in the early 90s did they start to allow professional players to compete. Therefore this tournament did not fall to the level that it is now, it actually just went back to the level it was supposed to be played at.

There became too many professional leagues and people were upset that teams like the Russians were sending professional players while teams like Canada were not. That is why there was a 50 or so year gap in hold metals for Canada.

I for one will always chear on a team with a maple leaf on the front (as long as it's not Toronto lol) as they are playing for and representing our country.

It's not a best on best, but it is an Olympic tournament, just like the ones from my childhood years.

I still cheered back then I will be now

GO CANADA GO!!!!
