I would salivate. Benson at 6 and then Dvorsky/Moore at 12. All of a sudden, our team is extremely fast and tenacious up and down the lineup.
6 and 12 for 4 is interesting.... hell i even see a world where Smith is still there at 6.

But you essentially getting 2 of (assuming smith does go 3-5)
Moore, Leonard, Dvorsky, Reinbacher, Wood, Perreault, ASP

I think this is super important draft for GMMG.... he def has a chance to knock it out of the park.... i think he did well with the Meier trade.

Who do you guys hope to grab with your devils 1st, and 35(if you have anyone in mind).... is a guy like Etienne Morin on your radar? Do you imagine sharks may aim at a goalie this year in the 2nd/3rd?

You make that trade if you want to pick Michkov and know that Arizona wants Smith/Carlsson at 4 and Montreal wants Reinbacher or someone else at 5. Then you can still get Michkov and add 12.
Yeah. From everything I’ve heard , MG will use the #4 and will take the BPA. Unless something really really drastic changes, I can’t imagine MG doesn’t take Michkov or Carlsson. Hypothetically, if you trade EK to Detroit, you ask for #9 and #43 picks, seeing as they have the 17th pick as well. You could, hypothetically, walk out with Michkov and Reinbacher plus an extra 2nd. That would be sick.

I happen to know someone in the scouting world who has a pretty good clue that Arizona will be picking Reinbacher unless something crazy happens.

Yea those guys could be available at 12 but I was going off the draft board from Half-Wall Hockey (TM) for the guys available around 12 so that's why I put Moore/Dvorsky there.

12th pick in this draft could be someone like Zach Benson or Eduard Sale so you have to consider that deal no matter what IMO. Just take whichever one of Michkov, Smith or Reinbacher falls to 6th.

I doubt the Yotes make thst trade
I'd only do it if Carlsson is off the board
I can only see Michkov possibly dropping due to the Russian factors
If no one drops unexpectedly, I'd go
Leonard at 6
Danielson at 12

(4) Leo Carlsson, C - Michkov went 3, which I think is unlikely.
(26) Tom Willander, RD (Don't think he'll be available.)
(36) Daniil But, LW (probably will not still be on the board
Everything below is complete crapshoot.

(123) Benjamin Poitras, C
(130) Jaden Lipinski, C
(132) Carsen Musser, G

Jaden Lipinski would be Mike Grier's new favorite guy. He's basically Grier: good wheels, good compete, hands of stone.

You should try cranking it to the highest level of randomness. Bedard fell to 3.
I got Carlsson at 4 and Reinbacher at 26. Now that's a fun draft...

If he does he better come away with a 1C and a 1D.

There are 1Cs like Matthews, McDavid, MacKinnon; and 1Cs like Hertl and Couture. Which one do you mean? Getting one from the first group will require trading up. And as Jax says, there's not much for 1Ds in this draft.

I was specifically looking at AZ's two 1st round picks to trade the Sharks' 4th pick for when I stated that Grier will/should trade down for two 1st round picks earlier in this thread. It wasn't an option in the poll.

Hopefully, AZ wants Michkov enough to make that trade. If Michkov turns out to have star power, Sharks can make a trade for him. AZ doesn't like keeping high salary players, and trading a future 1st for him would be the same as drafting him now. Plus, it nullifies the risk in drafting Michkov, although that is debatable.

It would be at the time when Vlasic has come off the books. Couture and Karlsson shortly afterwards. Timing would be good.

If Grier can pull this off, this is the smart move.

Draft, Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson, Smith, Michkov, top 2 defensemen, top 2 goalies, and leonard.
Two goalies in the top 10? Not realistic at all. :sarcasm:
