We need more offensive stars for sure but I don't think you're getting one at 26 even in this draft.
We may not but this is the best year to maybe get one since 2015 and I don’t think Grier can justify the co-centerpiece of the Timo trade to be someone a minimum of 5 years away no matter how far off the team is.

According to an anonymous person close to Hrabal interviewed by Corey Masisak, the Sharks met with Hrabal multiple times during the season. Definitely wouldn’t surprise me if the Sharks picked him with 36 or even 26.

I think the sharks should prioritize getting one of Hrabal, Augustine or Fowler. All 3 are heading the NCAA route and can develop for the next 3-4 years. I’d also worry if we drafted Bjarnasson or Ratzlaff they’d only get two more years of junior then forced to play for the Barracuda.

(referring to where Michkov will get drafted)

"Talking to sources around the league, a lot of people seem to think he’s going to fall somewhere in the five-to-eight range. That starts with the Montreal Canadiens with the fifth pick, Arizona at six, Philadelphia at seven and Washington at eight. So, it will be up to those teams, starting with the Canadiens of course, to decide what they’re going to do with Michkov, whether they take maybe a safer prospect or go for the talent."

Has anything been floated that San Jose is passing on him? Or are we still just in silly season for conjecture?

Absolutely nothing solid about San Jose's intentions has come out - nothing. It really is just conjecture because otherwise there will be nothing new to write about, hockey wise, for two weeks, and the journalists can't have that.
