Has anyone tried the Future Considerations mock draft tool? I had incredible luck on my first spin:

After the 2nd round. I just selected them by needs and sizes. Don't know any of them. I don't know how those real GMs do these things.

I mean, I suppose I’ve been entertaining this thought for a week or so. I feel like even with a well stocked cupboard of Centers, is there a chance Anaheim takes Matvei Michkov instead of Fantilli? Both game changers, but its like I see it in other sports all the time. You don‘t pass on a super stud DB or Center in Bball just because you have an established player already in service. you never know what may happen, and also, Take the BPA inatead of need and you see who rises to the top when everything shakes out. If nothing else you end up with a decent asset to offer in trade or a quality 3rd line center who offers more than a shut down skill set. That make sense? It’s been a long tiring day and I’m not firing on all cylinders lol Fantilli is a wise choice at #2 but I don’t blame the Ducks for taking the 2nd best overall prospect in this draft in Michkov.

Honzek just went to NSH. I think out of the guys left I’d go Morin, Stenberg, Heidt.

I'm suprised how high Dragicevic went, he has a good potential to be a good offensive defencemen but drafted more on #26-34 area. Interesting.

I was going to do a comparison of the sharks actual picks to our picks of these over the years but surprisingly we have either missed it (last year) or picked the exact same thing as the sharks (Merkley, Eklund) in the last while .

What about the 6’7” goalie Hrabal? Or is he a better pick at 36?
It seems like late first (SJ #26, COL #27 or MTL #29) is a possibility but unlikely. That said, there could be a run on goalies in the 2nd. If Sharks want a goalie, like what they see in Hrabal and he is still there at #36, I think he'd be a good pickup at that point. There's a chance some one could trade up ahead of #36 so gotta be watchful.

Some goalie notes:

I’ve seen a lot of people really like Hrabal but I don’t see it. He’s one of those guys who I think people like cause he’s big. Augustine is my number 1G in this draft. If we aren’t getting Augustine (which I doubt because he’s in that weird range between our 2nd and CAR 3rd) I’d love to use one of our later picks on Stephen Peck. High school goalie with good size. Still pretty raw and if he does turn into anything it won’t be for 5+ years but he’s really interesting to me.

I’d rather Fowler tbh
Why? He's 5 inches shorter and seems to be ranked significantly lower by everybody. McKenzie didn't even have him in his top 100 on the midseason rankings while Hrabal was 32nd.

What I meant is I’d rather draft Fowler later than Hrabel early. Jacob is already committed to Boston College for the next four years so I like how he can develop in another system that’s churned out a fair amount of NHLers including some notable goalies like Cory Schneider.

100%. I think he will be there with the Carolina 3rd.
Dude had a monster season. Having the luxury of allowing him to develop at BC instead of in our system is hella appealing.

If height is what you're looking for Damian Clara has some interesting potential and could be a late round steal.

That makes sense. I'd like to see us take a shot at the top ranked goalie for once. As much as I agree that our goalie coaching/development is an issue we also haven't drafted a half decent goalie prospect in almost 20 years.

I've been wanting the Sharks to take a shot at top tier goalie as well. The last I remember calling them to draft was Oettinger. I wonder how things would play out if they had. Does the Karlsson deal still happen?

That said, I think there isn't one guy head and shoulders above the rest (pun intended) this year imo.

I don’t hate it but it’s such a deep draft at forward and we desperately need long term offensive pieces, so I’m not sure this is the year to go that route.

We need more offensive stars for sure but I don't think you're getting one at 26 even in this draft.
