If we got Carlsson at 4 and Honzek at 26, we’d have the Golden Gate Bridge line. Coining it now.

Honzek doesn't seem likely to last to 26. Aggressive projections have him maybe in play as early as 8 or 9, most things I've seen figure he's gone somewhere in the teens.

So my dream is mostly dead but I'm going to hang onto it for as long as I can.

Perhaps if we do trade EK at the draft

I think it’ll be
Michkov at 4 and Simashev at 26 .
I highly doubt he slides this far but we get But at 36

I really hope it won't be Michkov but Smith or Carlsson. I am not sure if you guys do not realize but risk is very high. I mean his skills are not the issue but all the other stuff. If he would have 3 year contract for lets say in Switzerland I would not have as much concerns. But I have said this already so my opinion is probably already quite clear.

Wait there’s a risk??? Oh no….no wonder he’s not going 2nd or 3rd! Thanks for the INCREDIBLE INSIGHT!!!!

Meh. If he's the consensus BPA, he needs to be the pick. You go BPA at that position.

Just based on Griers quotes post Lottery, I get the feeling he’s prepared to take the BPA between Carlsson and Michkov. No disrespect to Smith but imo this is a 2 man pool at #4. I’ve been kinda thinking lately, it’s very unlikely, but what if Anaheim goes Carlsson at #2 and CBJ goes Michkov at 3? Is there a universe where that happens Lol? Fantilli at #4 seems far fetched but I guess it possibly COULD happen.

And with the Sharks 2nd (1st rd pick from NJD) at #25 or 26 overall. I'd like the Sharks to take Mathew Wood 6'3" and he has a booming shot like Ovechin from the same left circle where Ovechin is famous for. Or maybe Gabe Perreault 5'11" but at #25 it is hard to see he still available for the Sharks. Maybe the Sharks can trade NJD 1st and Sharks 2nd round to move up a 10 spots to grab Ryan Leonard (USA).

If Anaheim overthinks and goes for Carlsson, CBJ is 100% taking Fantilli - their GM just said they’re picking a center for sure. Smith is good but he’s not Fantilli, from what I understand.

We’re going to be between Smith/Michkov or Carlsson/Michkov — I think if it’s the latter, we go Carlsson, if it’s the former, it’s a toss up. It’ll depend how they view Michkov, how their interview with him goes, and how important 1C over BPA is for them.

is it a scorching hot take to say in 5 years, Will Smith will be the best player selected in a 2023 redraft? Kid seems to be Neck and neck with Carlsson. Could all just be hype leading up to the draft.

None of those guys are going to be there past like 15.

Your post is absolutely zero value post.

The risks are related to stuff which are larger scale things than just hockey. I cannot blame you as you live in North America that you are probably not following the situation as much.

Also, if Michkov really is that good, shouldn't he go already 2nd or 3rd overall if there would not be that big risk?

I mean, there’s a chance Anaheim takes him at 2. Slight, but it’s still there since they already have Zegras and McTavish at C.

CBJ has already stated they’re taking a C or else he might’ve gone at 3.

Also, the Ukraine situation is well known in the US. We’re all aware of what is happening. Especially considering the US has sent more aid than the rest of the world combined.

I’m honestly on board with where some posters are at in terms of feeling very comfortable with taking either Carlsson, Michkov or Smith. It’s all a win in my book. Unless MG has a different criteria in mind for “BPA”. I just don’t want him to walk up to the podium and say the name of a kid we could’ve got at the back end of the 1st or in the teens of the 1st.
