What should the Leafs do

Don’t give away a 1st round pick and a 4th round pick for a 4th line plugger injured and on an expiring contract who plays a grand total of SEVEN (7) games.

Just another of the many brutal mistakes of Kyle Dumbass.

It's my opinion that there are at least 4 teams with better odds if I'm betting. Boston and Florida are better just in our own division. If we aren't winning at least 2 rounds why load up? The cupboard is bare.
I understand Florida, but Boston is not better than Toronto.

Buy, but only one D-man and the best you can get without giving up anyone of significance on the roster, 1st round picks, Minten, or Cowen.
So not a big time player but sure you can get a top four type all purpose D-man rental with out giving away the significant youth pieces.

Boston has great goaltending, and an elite first pair on D. I think we are better outside of this.
McAvoy is certainly better than any defenseman the Leafs have, and Boston's goaltending is probably more reliable (except in the playoffs...), but other than that Toronto is better than Boston in all areas. Coaching is a wash, as I don't think either coach is at the top of the game.

Lindholm is pretty good too.

I have been pretty down on this team all year and I regret to say, I am beginning to believe and feel the passion and I think it's time to stop being a hater and start becoming delusional and optimistic.
It wouldn't be the Leafs if they didn't. They always get your hopes up before breaking your heart in new and exciting ways.

I wonder if Seattle would consider moving Larsson if they fall out of the race. Seems like he's been healthy which was a knock against him with the Oilers. Signed for 1 more year which takes us through the end of the Tavares contract and opens up cap to extend or replace him. He was no slouch in the playoffs last year.

Jason Robertson, Fraser Minten, Easton Cowan and a 3rd for Lawson Crouse and Matt Dumba.

Can never have enough toughness for the playoffs. Great for the future too as Crouse is a 26yr old power forward who can be counted on for 20 to 25 goals and play a physical game.

You said we'd take over 1st place from Boston in January, then you changed it to December when we went on a mini streak. Has the thought crossed your mind that you're underestimating Boston, or overestimating the Leafs, or perhaps both?

I underestimated Boston's resiliency after their last dip in play. But then they had a recent homestand where they again stumbled. They are certainly not a bad team by any stretch, but, no, they are not as good as the Leafs, other than in a couple of spots. I think a series between these two teams would be a good battle, but I think the Leafs would beat them. It's like no one has actually paid attention to Boston's playoff record over the last few years. It is just as bad as Toronto's record...

Agreed. This is why I have been suggesting Dumba. He's RD, plays PK, can skate and eat minutes..is not great at any of it though, so be is affordable and probably an upgrade on Lagesson or Giordano

My guess Boston wins in 7 but it would be a good series… lol

I think Boston would be in tough against the Leafs. We'll see what happens. If the Leafs are able to overtake them for the division they won't be playing each other anyway.
