I imagine they asked for our good prospects like Huuhtanen and we said no. Better to give up yet to be used picks, than guys we've already started to develop and like.

I wish we could have shipped back Myers instead. Foote would not be such a big loss if we had decent depth back there. Now we need to make another move to add another defenseman.

I don't disagree but that's pretty much what we all said about Goodrow and the others. If you get Jeannot to be 15-20 goal scorer Jeannot from last season, that's a big plus.

JBB gets the benefit of the doubt for a lot of things he has done right but this might be his worst trade ever. Foote plus 1,2,3,4,5 round picks?
 
Yeah thats copium to think we didn't overpay. Man has 5 goals this year. Lol. I get he brings more to the game than just goals but we just sent Trotz five attempts for his scouts to grab a gem for Tanner Jeannot. I'm good with it because our bottom six is now

Jeannot - Paul - Colton
Maroon - Bellemare - Perry
Names

And we can still send Vladdys ass packing for a dman or Lafferty and an 8th in 2043.

I like the player for us, I do, but man, the amount we gave up isn't worth it. Considering how bare the cupboards already are, and our roster will continue to thin out.

I do wonder if JBB is banking on Stammer and Heddy to take huge discounts...
 
I get the sentiment looking at what we gave up.

BUT, hear me out:
- Jeannot is obviously THE player that JFBB identified as the absolute best fit for our team for now and the future.
- Likely the Preds didn't want to part ways with him unless a great offer was presented to them (they wanted 2 1st rounders).
- We managed to get what we wanted without giving up one of our few good prospects.
- Are we really still doubting JFBB and his deadline adds?


Hagel - Point - Kucherov

Cirelli - Stamkos - Killorn

Colton - Paul - Jeannot

This is one hell of a top 9.

Jbb says how many picks to get this done all of them I guess? We've seen this episode before but how many times can we get away with it before it bites the team in the ass?

More than anything it's a lock we are playing toronto now I don't think they have anyone that compares to jeannot size fight wise. So if he screens goalies or irritate the defense welp he is doing his job. A big pest will frustrate toronto team.

But kidding aside, I’m in agreement with DTR. To the eyes it seems staggering. But when you step back from it and realize what could potentially be plugged in with what’s in Syracuse now, and what should be coming to Syracuse next season (or even the following season), it takes a lot of the sting off of it.

If he continues following the model of money in money out for, say a D, perhaps it will be a roster Forward and then (mostly likely) a prospect

I have a feeling we were out on Lafferty, which is why he pulled the trigger on Jeannot. Hopefully not but I’ve accepted it

I would've hoped they could've got Trenin as well for that package. No way would Lafferty have cost this much, and he's already signed cheaper than Jeannot(at least through next year). Granted, Jeannot has a higher ceiling than Lafferty, and maybe they are still in on Lafferty as well, but this seems steep. I know most of the picks are mid to late and wouldn't help the team for years, if at all, but now it's even more important that the current prospects they have include more hits than misses.

Main boards is in for a rude awakening if they think JBB wont send that 2nd in 2025 and Vladdys ass packing for Gavrikov or a RD lmao. I'm all for it. We mightve won a cup or two during Yzermans tenure if he had the risk JBB does.

You can't ridicule this guy when he's filling the needs of the team repeatedly and so far he's hitting on them all. Has there been one that's fallen flat?

Goodrow, Coleman, Paul and Hagel have all been very good for us. I hope Jeannot gets it together here and beats the piss out of people in the progress so fans can cry some more. This probably also spells the end of Perry here if it wasn't already after this season. Someone with wheels can take his spot and I've liked him. Hope we can win another this year.

As long as we keep competing deep every year we can't complain. It's not like we have open spots on the roster needing filled. The 4th unexpectedly wilted this year. We could use a RD and a 4C. Apart from that, we are chilling. Give me Paul in place of Killorn next year.
