Right……and there were stars available and with those picks retention would be in play with Names going back for the cap. Man this is a toughie hopefully I feel better about it after digesting
 
im sure most of those draft picks will be nothing but god damn we almost gave up more draft picks than we did goals tonight
 
I mean, ideally you don't waste the end of those guys careers and see them leave for a 2nd and cup chase. Those are all guys that should retire with us. Remain competitive as long as they are. We have a couple guys next year that might surprise us and eventually get a look too so as long as one ELC/league min comes in, we can bolster the bottom 9 with still having a top 6 very much the same minus Killorn. And thats for the next 3-5 years too.. I don't think our window closes if JBB leverages picks for the right type of player.

What he's doing is mortgaging the farm and development for guys we can mold into the players suitable for us. Is it overpayment? Bet your ass. Does it matter when you've won 2 out of the last 3 cups and all that, when the teams and fanbases that haven't are holding onto assets for dear life and we clutch cups and merch? Nah. Let others develop players for us, we swoop in at TDL.

It's 5 picks + Foote, who is likely valued as around a 3rd.

I mean, hey, we will hope to enjoy it, but wow.
 
In my mind, he has to turn into Tom Wilson for this to be worth it. We have nothing left in the cupboard to address the rest of our needs this year.
