Oilers fan here.

Gutted that we traded Hall. You guys are getting a dynamic player - creates a ton of scoring chances and works his ass off consistently. Makes some mistakes, but are mostly due to over-exerting himself when things aren't going well.

As far as Larsson goes, could you guys give me our opinions:
1) How good is he right now? A #2? #3? #4?
2) How good do you think he'll become?
3) Do you think he'll tap into more offensive upside as he gets older?

He's a 2 right now if paired with a good partner. He can also be a elite #3 currently. He can get to that #1 status if handled right

I haz a sad
I <3 Larsson :(

Hall is a great talent, but man I will miss that kid :(

Calling Hall a great talent is quite an understatement. He had as many points as Malkin and Stamkos since the start of 2012-2013.

We traded a rock solid #2 with potential to be a lower end #1 (i just don't see Larsson becoming a true #1 because of his skating and his meh shot) for a 24 year old franchise winger.

Devils trade for Hall, PK Subban and Weber are traded, Stamkos resigns in Tampa, and Saugus comes back from the dead.

What an interesting day.

Only mostly dead. Don't get used to it though, I'm probably going dormant again after today unless some other crazy stuff happens.

Getting traded without advanced notice is huge for anyone, but I would imagine that Hall probably spent some time during the last few years of dumpster-fire hockey in Edmonton dreaming ahead to when the fabled second Oilers dynasty would eventually come together. It must be incredibly jarring to have to re-calibrate that to a whole new future. I'm glad we're got Rico to help him adjust to new surroundings.

While everyone in Montreal is freaking out about Subban being traded, I'm legit ecstatic. Seriously, shocked.

He has his bro to show him around Hoboken and there is a top 5 goalie chilling between the pipes to help him taste the NHL playoffs ASAP. He will adjust fine.

Yeah.

He has 100 point potential. With Severson and Greene being players who can pass the puck, he might get it.

Congrats.

"I was there for six seasons, so you develop a relationship with the team, the city and the fans," Hall said. "I'm disappointed that I'm not going to be able to see that through, but I'm excited that I'm going to play for a team that wants me.

"It's not that Edmonton didn't want me, but I certainly do feel a bit slighted by the whole thing."

Ladies and gentlemen, I know they've been missing for a few years but I think we've found the playoffs.

Can't help but think of Seguin getting traded to Dallas. Hall is a 90 point calibre player. Shocked to see him go.

Meanwhile poor Adam has been traded to Siberia.

Well he's got a familiar face in Mark Fayne there, brand new building opening up this year. That's all I can think of?

But I do think Edmonton's defense looks not too bad right now. I keep forgetting they have Sekara too, I forgot they signed him last year.
