for me it’s always been that i did not want to go to the lottery in that 10-15 range.

5 vs 8.5/7.5 or whatever - i don’t care. 3.5/2.5/0 vs 8.5 - yuck.

just finish 25th or 24th. dont start demko again. cut hughes minutes. please

Too late for that.

It's honestly kind of cringe with the new "it starts now" motto that they are going with. Like Miller leaving the bench because they are losing a meaningless game. Like really nobody cares about these games. And next year no one will remember that they won these games, just like no one remembered that run we went on with Bruce bump. Fans only want to see the unproven players contribute (Hirose, Mcward, etc) and lose.

With a Senators win and Canucks loss (regulation or OT) the Canucks would be locked into the 11th spot at worst.

Current Standings:

8) Capitals - 77pts
9) Canucks - 79pts
10) Red Wings - 80pts
11) Blues - 81pts
12) Senators - 83pts

Tiebreakers:

Regulation wins are the first tiebreaker. Canucks have 23 and can reach a maximum of 26. Red Wings, Blues, and Senators all hold the tiebreaker over the Canucks so in the event of matching them in the standings, Canucks would have the better draft pick. Senators have 26 regulation wins, a Canucks loss or OT win will give the tiebreak to the Capitals.

This isn’t a rebuilding franchise. They are firmly in win now mode and just have had a lot of unforeseen and unfair adversity throw them off. Next year will be different.

I think we should have two part playoff, the real one, and the aww-there-there-at-least-you-tried playoff where all the non-playoff teams play against each other in the same format. The biggest difference will be, the real playoff winner gets Lord Stanley, the fake playoff winner...

Canucks have never been in playoffs spot all year and somehow ended up in the zone of depression. Not in the playoffs, not getting a great pick.

Arizona (1-7-2) and ducks (0-8-2) are as close to automatic wins as it gets. That's 83 points when that happens plus however many we get against the kings. 83 is probably enough to pass Detroit into 10th.

Blues play stars back to back if they don't get two points out of those we can take them. If they do we can take them if we get a point from LA.

Passing the Sens is still on the table if we win/get a point tonight.

Huge night, we really need the kings to win tonight.
 
I hope the pens miss.

Panthers did the right thing making that Tkachuk trade and were hammered with injuries.

Islanders I want to make it so I feel better about the Hronek trade.
 
If Isles lose today to Washington its over.

Pens play Blackhawks and Jackets in final two games.

If Isles lose and dont make playoffs, that pick will be in the 14-16 range.

Not if Florida loses… then it will come down to final game. If Florida can come back to win , NYI can’t catch them and pitts would be down 1 point with a game in hand. Need a FLA win to help keep Baby BoHo out.
 
Must lose in reg today. Det lose today and Caps win put them both at .500.

Unfortunately tomorrow Det gets Car and Caps get Bos while we get Ana. All on the road.

Not out of the woods yet and it’ll come down to the final game.
